The Hamilton at North Market

This is a review of 3 different Wise Property locations (Hamilton, Maddox, and Constance). Friends, coworkers, and neighbors have the same feedback.

Communication is very difficult with Mary. She will always respond to emails but often doesn't answer any of your questions when doing so. She is very forgetful so keep after her and document everything.

You pay a $300 non-refundable cleaning fee, do not expect to move into a clean apartment. The cleaning crew can come back in. There will be... paint on your floors and scuff marks on your walls (multiple units had this). There was the most mold I have ever seen in my washing machine, rusted bathroom drains, dirt on the hardwood. Overall I did an additional 3 hours of cleaning.

You will have to request work orders. Maintenance responds quickly. Examples are missing pull chains on fans, missing drip pans on the stove, dangling lighting on the balcony, cabinet doors falling off, shower handles fall off. They won't replace the carpet regardless of how stained it is. The door to your unit is flimsy & ill-fitting, many are not allowed to have a dead bolt installed. It really makes you feel uncomfortable security wise until you get use to it.

You cannot hear your neighbor talking or vacuuming, but the noise travels through the wall. In the Maddox the Big Chill's music will vibrate up your walls. In the Constance you can hear screaming children who live in the opposite corner of the building. If someone is running across the floor in the unit next to you (such as a toddler) it will shake a wall in a non-adjacent room, it's very strange. If anyone knocks on a door in the hallway it will sound like they are knocking on your door.

Parking has never been a problem, we get lots of compliments on how the place appears to be great when people come over. Don't expect it to be move in ready. There isn't a lot available in this area, I wish there was something better even for a higher price but we weren't able to find anything available. We are comfortable enough that as our lease comes to an end we will most likely resign to avoid moving. Read More
