Awful Experience
Stay away. I have lived here for about 10 months and it has been nothing but hell. I can hear every step from the couple upstairs and music throughout the night. I’ve contacted my landlord about making a noise complaint and she has gone completely MIA. The property manager is a liar and doesn’t get any issues resolved. There have been several drug raids and a shooting within the time I’ve been here. I’ve seen the cops here a dozen times. And there are cockroaches in the laundry room as well.... Stay far away.

Never refunded security deposit
I had lived at this community for last two years.I had moved out last week. They had taken 700 dollars security deposit which was refundable. However, after I moved out they refused to return the money.I had cleaned the apartment and nothing was damaged.Despite of that they told me that that have spend the money in cleaning and making it ready for the next tenant. Why should I spend my hard earned money to prepare it for their next tenant????I am not the only victim. This has happened with... several of my friends in last six months.I have been trapped by them.
My request to all the future tenants please be aware of it.
I just want to make sure that no one else is being victimized like me.

Meh.
I lived here two years and found West End Terrace very average. The price is definitely the selling point as you won't likely find a lower price so close to downtown. The area is growing as well, If you live in the East units, Richland Creek Greenway is a really nice walk. The booming Charlotte Park is just a couple minutes away. With this comes decent noise from traffic as well as your neighbors, but its nothing unreasonable. Units themselves are only maintained as totally necessary. I've... got cracked doorframes and a few holes in the walls that were filled on the cheap. Bathrooms and storage space are quite small, while closets and kitchens are big comparatively. Appliances are older but functional. Laundry is too small for the size of the community. There are down times, but expect to do your laundry a weeknight or early weekend mornings. The machines themselves are new and a reasonable $1.75 for washer load and $1.50 dryer load right now. Management is hit and miss, I've had issues resolved without problems and issues that were dragged out with lazy excuses. Notes on the door are a regularity. These range from inconvenient, like being notified of every detail of the agreement whenever anyone else violates (giving the feeling you're living in a college dorm) to seriously problematic like getting less than 24 hours to move your car when the parking lot will be unavailable or that the water will be turned off. Both of these did happen during a weekday, to be fair. The temperature control is why I moved. The baseboard heaters are perfectly fine, but a single window A/C unit makes the summers brutal. Even with three ceiling fans in the unit, you'll need a powerful fan for the bedroom. All in all, if price is your main selling point, I would definitely consider West End Terrace, but you are getting what you pay for.

Don't Make My Mistake
I regret giving notice and leaving my nice apartment at West End Terrace. I deeply regret giving my notice and leaving West End Terrace 6 months ago.....only because my rent was raised from $640 to $700. I was furious and gave my notice without second thought. Well, I relocated, further from school where I am finally getting my Masters and further from my employment. I settle in, not having as much time to enjoy my smaller apartment, and I get notice from my current manager that my rent is... being raised to $900! I have less sq footage than West End, I have much small closet and storage space, while I have central air, my electric bill here is much more than it ever was at West End. So, I started searching, calling and checking around 13 places in Nashville and find that West End Terraces rent is below Market value! I feel so stupid and angry with myself for making such a rash decision to give them my notice to vacate. First, West End is a older community. Secondly, it does have baseboard heat and one AC in the living room window. Having said this, my electric bills were lower than ever before and when I think about it, the AC did an adequate job in cooling my apartment. Of course I did not run heat or AC when I was not home. The property has a great manager, and although Ms Brubaker follows the rules on everyones lease, isn't that her job? She tows cars that are not parked where they should be parked and that is also stated on our parking permit form we have to sign as well. The manager makes sure maintenance responds quickly to any maintenance requests. He is Hispanic and sometimes seems a little scatterbrained and isn't clear on what he does, but an email or phone call to the manager quickly answers any questions. I know my neighbor gets annoyed with flyers the manager posts on our door, but as I told him, I would rather be informed than something to happen and I pay the consequences. I think the manager just wants to be sure she is giving proper notice about things, and tries to remind tenants about the parking rules and tenants must have a parking permit or they will get towed. It is on my parking permit form. He had to agree. Now I am stuck where I moved to, I tried to move back to West End Terrace and they do not have any openings.
