Unfortunate Deal Breaker
I moved in here at the end of Feb’26, so I think a review after 4 1/2 months is appropriate.
I will start off by saying that I enjoy the complex and other than a few maintenance related issues everyone who works on the property is great. Randi, who runs the office, and Anna, who I believe is her support staff are very helpful and friendly.
What became an issue is when they implemented a community wide Internet service called ‘gigstreem’ at the end of March.
If you are considering signing a... lease here, it is a mandatory $70 a month Internet service.
I’ll admit that I am in no way a fan of having the place I live and pay money to decide to limit my options and force me to pay for a specific service. One of the few options we have as consumers is our ability to give our money to a different company if we don’t like the service we are getting. So having that right taken from me is already a problem.
But what makes it even worse is that gigstreem provides terrible service. The internet goes out constantly, sometimes for up to 5 hours. Two weeks ago it was out for over two days. There was no internet for the entire weekend. That was the fifth time the internet had gone out for an extended period and they have only been providing service since the end of March. It’s June. So it’s honestly pretty ridiculous. Not to mention the cost of $70 a month. You can get spectrum or AT&T or even t-mobile for less than $50 a month and the service is 100% more reliable.
So be aware that if you move here you will be forced to overpay for internet that is not reliable. So if you work from home, this would not be a good option for you. Since I signed a lease before they started the gigstreem service, they can’t charge me the $70 a month unless I sign a new lease, so I get the gigstreem service for free. After the last 2 day outage I went and got spectrum. I feel like that should tell you all you need to know. I would rather pay for spectrum than have the free internet that gigstreem currently provides. That’s how bad it is. I’ve tried to discuss this with the “higher ups” but they have shown no interest in hearing feedback from their community, so I am leaving this review in order to make sure anyone moving here is aware of the situation.
