DO NOT MOVE HERE
Do not move to Saxony Apartments or any property managed by Richdale.
Our issues started during the application process when Richdale corporate requested an entire year of bank statements, which felt extremely invasive and unnecessary. The moment I questioned why they needed that level of documentation, I was suddenly told it was not required and our application moved forward anyway.
We signed our lease three months before move in. When we arrived, the apartment was not even finished being... painted.
Maintenance issues were constant. Our dishwasher was broken for over three months and was only repaired after we sent certified letters to corporate demanding action.
At one point a six month old payment suddenly showed as bounced because of what appeared to be a system glitch. The leasing office told us not to pay it while they resolved the issue. Their staff never documented that conversation. Every time we went to the office to follow up we were told to wait. Eventually, despite following their instructions, we were served with an eviction notice.
There were also serious safety issues. Our entire block went nearly two weeks with no exterior lighting at night. We reported it multiple times and were simply told to wait for repairs. Nothing was done to protect tenants or prevent injuries during that time.
The overall property conditions were unacceptable. The pool was broken most of the time we lived there with only half of it functioning. Trash was often left around the property and the sidewalks were constantly muddy.
The most concerning issue was mold in the vent system. It became so bad that I developed bronchitis. After repeatedly requesting maintenance, the solution was someone wiping inside the vent with a rag. I have video of this.
Almost every tenant we met while living there eventually moved out. On top of that, the property kept deposits that should not have been kept. They even kept my pet deposit even though my dog is a documented Emotional Support Animal. They also bill tenants through their own internal companies and then send those charges to collections.
Living here was an ongoing headache and one of the worst renting experiences I have ever had. I strongly recommend that anyone considering this property look elsewhere.
