Aston Post Oak

I am a resident of Aston Post Oak (erstwhile IMT Post Oak) since 2022.. What happened 2 days back has left me shocked.
I returned from a business trip on 16th of May 2026 to find my apartment had been broken in, brutally forced and the door cracked. A burglary had been committed while I was away There was evidence of crime all over inside the apartment, a crime committed while I was away.
I found the rooms in a mess and that a planned robbery had happened. The scene inside the apartment was... disturbing all clothes on the floor, all valuables including expensive watches, jewelry missing, empty jewelry boxed and watch cases gone, my suits and jackets missing. The suitcases had been force opened and clothes missing. It almost looked like a scene out of a movie.
Checking my cars in the garage to find the Mercedes G wagon not in the garage also stolen. Someone could drive out the G wagon effortlessly out of the apartment complex.
I called 911 , 2 police officers visited the apartment and asked
1. What are the cameras available in the building and in the garage doors and they want to check the footage. I am told by the management that the Cameras have been defective for over a month and that they are looking into it.
2. The police asked If the neighbors heard anything since such a strong wooden door was broken open. They will be speaking to some residents in the apartments closer to mine. My loss exceeds USD 200k plus my car is gone. The police seemingly feel it could be a job of an insider since such access to the apartment complex is not easy. The thieves after cleaning up the apartment with the stuff went straight to the car and drove out; it seems to be a well-orchestrated plan with the knowledge of the insider.

I’ve been living year for more than two years now. Although this apartment is generally okay.. the biggest problem is the constants water pump problems that the apartment faces. I would say once every two weeks our apartment runs out of water. This has been frustrating for the past year and a half now.

Whenever I’ve called maintenance to fix this issue, they just give me a blanket statement saying that the apartment complex has always had water pump issues.. this is not a solution.. the... apartment complex needs to fix this matter as soon as possible rather than just saying “oh this is always been an issue and we can’t resolve it” if they can’t resolve it, then at the very least they should provide partial rent refunds to its tenants since this has been a recurring issue for quite some time now. Absolutely would not recommend this place. For the price and location I would expect a LOT better quality. Appliances are broken and do not work. Expect any packages and or mail to be stolen. No dog friendly areas, people's animals just poop and pee all over the sidewalks in the front and it is never cleaned up. Fire alarms constantly going off at random times and now for the next 4 days they will be testing the fire alarms all day from 9 am to 5 pm. Called to voice a complaint and a gentleman... decided upon himself to hang up on me. I was not rude nor yelling, just expressing how upset I am that I have school from home and for the past 7 hours I have heard nothing but screeching def tone ringing in my ears. I will NOT be renewing my lease here and I will be sure to warn everyone that I can to stay away from this place!

Oh and to add due to the cold weather we've had lately, if you like to take hot showers this is definitely NOT the place for you. The hot water does not last longer than 5 minutes till it turns ice cold. Zero water pressure. Read More

Leasing office is exactly what it says - Leasing office. Once you have leased, you are pretty much on your own. If you are looking to rent, I would strongly encourage you to read all the comments here as well as management's 'not our problem' responses.
