Driscoll Place Apartments

I have the Merlot and loved it from day 1. Screen Patio, Large Mirror Closet, W/D in Unit. Rapid Maintenance Service. Wood Floors. Well maintained Property. Lighted too.
I've been here 6 years and I'm barely moving, to the same property, just a bigger Unit.
And everyone is friendly.

Dont even apply here !!! they TOLD me i would get my admin fee back due to being declined. its been since 6/17/24 no one has reached out . OSCAR or whatever his name is hung up on me after having me on hold for 10 minutes i called back 3x no answer. im so glad i wasnt able to move here ! i literally had to call my bank to get my $ back ! thank god for stopping this nightmare before it started!

I lived there for 2 years.
Unfortunately when I moved in before reading the reviews or doing any research. Both times I went to see the apt complex, it was during the week and business hours so I could not see the reality.
In the first year there was a murder, if not mistaken 2 or 1 people died. The police visit the complex daily.
Now, about the apartment. I had a terrible time dealing with management.
First, the unit`s AC was terrible, my last 3 months were HELL on Earth. During summer,... believe or not, the AC could not keep a one bedroom apartment below 90 degrees, yes, you read it right. During the night the temperature would be in the high 70s or low 80s. They sent maintenance twice and the guy just said it takes time to cool, but come on, I was talking about a 24/7 problem. And then he would argue with me.
Second, the apt condition was not that good when I moved in, the first 2 months I had an infestation of those small roaches, it was terrible. The one bedroom apt below had 4 people living there + 3 pets, imagine the noise and the smell. And trust me, the pets were ok.
When I moved out they charged me around $800 for new carpet and other stuff that was already bad when I moved in.
Oh and btw, before I moved in, the storage door (the one in the balcony) was completely broken and hanging there, like someone broke it in a fight or whatever. But they fixed before I moved in, just saying that besides being a terrible place to live, regarding the management, apt condition and maintenance, watch out for the other tenants, as there are drugs, murders, noise, trash etc everyday .. There are many apartments in Houston Texas to rent, but if you’re looking for a gated living community with affordable spacious apartments a friendly management/office staff that will work with you on an issue to make it right and a 24 hour knowledgably maintenance crew.

Do yourself a favor... KEEP LOOKING ELSEWHERE. We had assaults on TWO women, 15 ft from our door about two weeks apart. Apartment did nothing to address it. The "gate" was broken the entire 12 months we were there... probably still is. My wife and I are both neat freaks, and when we moved out, the management company is coming after us for almost twice the amount of our monthly rent! After taking our damage deposit already!! They want us to pay for a new oven and new carpet--which were likely 20... and 10 years old, respectively, when we moved in. The leasing agent when we moved in even apologized about the condition of both!!! Noting how old they were. It's absurd. DO NOT LIVE HERE. Unsafe. Dirty. Disrespectful. You deserve better. I never leave reviews because sometimes bad things just happen and there's no one to blame. This time, however, this management company is 100% suspect--I have to warn others.
