This is Life at Jackson Square under a new name
Look. Maybe the new owners are going to try and turn things around for real this time. But the issues with LJS are a well documented matter of public record, and as a former resident I feel you deserve to know about them:
- Horrible pest problems including roach, flea, and rat infestations
- Frequent failures of the HVAC and sewage. Examples include residents being left without heating during the Jan 2026 freeze, and a sewage backup that caused blackwater to fill my bathtub anytime a toilet... was flushed in any nearby unit - it took a week and multiple calls to maintenance to get it serviced
- Stray animals roaming the property and leaving messes everywhere. Minimal attention to landscaping/upkeep didn't help this.
- Constant crime, including gun violence, domestic violence, and burglary. I was myself the victim of a burglary on my last day in the complex and I am just thankful I had already removed everything that was valuable or irreplaceable.
- Perhaps most egregiously, a portion of the complex recently burned in a fire, and months later residents still had not been relocated from affected units or had them repaired.
You can perform a simple web search for Life at Jackson Square and confirm pretty much all of this. Some of these issues are inherent to the structure at this point and no management company can fix them absent a complete teardown and rebuild of the site. Caveat emptor.
