The Merle on Howard

I put in a maintence issue, that was not like a high-priority item by any means but next day, done!
Great team at the Merle!
They are professional when needed. But, they also make you feel like a friend and not just a number on an apartment door.

By far the best apartment community I have lived in. Even all the younger residents, which most are way younger than me, have been very accepting and let me join them in events.

Our experience with transitioning into resident life at The Merle was hands down the easiest, most efficient process I've experienced. Everything is thought of and planned out well in advance to make it as smooth and seamless as possible without any surprises. The staff is extraordinarily well versed in providing resources, suggestions, and very knowledgeable of the community.

The Merle itself is sublime. From the comfort of the living spaces to the wide variety of amenities, it's clear it was... built with residents in mind to make them feel right at home. The staff are simply amazing.

I've been living at The Merle since December now and had no issues with the property. The amenities are great, the unit features and layout is one of the best in Austin. However, lately the fees they are trying to implement have been getting out of hand. I added a picture of the fee schedule. I'm mostly disappointed with the handling of the EV station parking. They are now charging $6.50 per hour after 4 hours of charging, on top of the 30 cents per kWh to charge. This equates to almost 70 bucks... to get a full charge over night. The EV stations sit empty most nights anyways so I don't understand why management would discourage people from using the chargers by implementing an hourly fee. If anything, they're going to loose out on revenue from this. They've also charged me 10% of rent for a late fee for April after my auto payment didn't go through there system. I tried explaining that it wasn't my fault there system didn't accept my scheduled payment, but they still charged me. All in all, if you can handle the fees, its a great property, but I wouldn't recommend for EV owners especially since the convenience is lost. It just seems to me that they are just trying to recoup losses through ridiculous fees.
