Ashley Oaks Apartments

I love Ashley Oaks living! I rented a two bedroom/two bathroom for the last 9 months and do not have a single complaint! First of all, the staff (Ms. Ashley) and the maintenance guy are professional, organized, and considerate. Additionally, if I ever had any issues, they were completely taken care of within 24 hours (even when I insisted it was a low priority). They are on top of their game here. The pool and laundry facilities were always clean. It's a quiet community with different kinds of... people-- military, families, college, etc, but I've never had an issue with noise or with other tenants. This place is centrally located; it is 10 minutes to Goodfellow AFB and roughly the same distance downtown. When I moved in everything was seeming to be the amazing apartment I thought I was moving into. It didn't take long for me to realize all the stuff wrong - the manager Ashley is absolutely amazing and she was so helpful BUT the apartment itself, you could tell not much work was done prior to moving in. It's unfortunate, with such a great manager(which is rare) that the living experience for a year contract has to be a not "home" feeling. The carpet was dirty, the appliances dirty, a few holes... and cracks that you can tell were never touched. It's sad when your embarrassed to invite people over because your apartment looks dingy. There are a lot of things highly problematic with these apartments. One, the managers never stick around, we get a new apartment manager every couple of months, making contact and reliability almost nonexistent. two, the '24 hour maintenance' service, is a lie, there is no way to contact the maintenance man, he charges you to open your door, and work orders are generally always delayed in getting any work done. I have had to wait 24 hours more than once to get my air conditioner fixed, in the... summer, when its 90 degrees at night. My windows have all been permanently shut by the wonderful maintenance staff so ventilation was impossible and I had to sit in a stagnant apartment that got to around 90 degrees in the night. When the apartments flooded the work crew did more harm than good, taking chunks of of my walls, counters, and trim. They even managed to break and destroy lots of personal property. Three, most tenants are basically allowed to do whatever, whenever, even at the expense and comfort of others. More often than not we are threatened with rules and penalties based on one or two residents actions, but then the residents guilty of actually doing them are never told to stop. The entire place is highly unprofessional, disorganized, and just not the best place to live. When I was looking into the Quadrangle Apartments there were a lot of bad reviews, i was a bit worried but moved my family in anyway! Turns out they are AMAZING! Even though they were switching apartment managers when we were moving in, they still did their best to make us comfortable! Its a really quite complex and everyone is pretty friendly! I would defdefinitely reccomend this apartment complex to anyone and everyone!
