Hilltop at Shavano

I'm looking for a new home and came across this community. I love the location. I drove up to beautiful flowers and so many trees. It so welcoming. The office staff was so nice. They showed me an apartment with a good view, it's such a great community. It's on my top 2 to decide to make my home.

Pros: Nicey laid out unit.

Cons: Roaches. The night before we moved into our unit, we decided to finalize our inventory checklist before moving in, we were greeted by three mature German Roaches. We're now moved in and it's Roaches in the dinning, kitchen, and restrooms. I pray tonight I don't see any in our bedrooms. I am really pissed off because I've never lived with pest before.

Additional cons: The resident portal sucks not the best platform. No flexibility with optional fees. Everyone... is required to pay $35 a month for trash to which they didn't even pick up my trash tonight. Covered parking is $55. At our last complex which we loved offered on covered parking, if you wanted Additional covered parking there was a fee of $25. Also, they charged $50 dollars for a gate clicker it was not disclosed to me that they'll only provide one gate opener per household. We have multiple cars. Our last complex offered two for that price. If you don't have clicker you can't access the gym. I haven't had the opportunity to use the gate clicker to see if it works because the gate has been broken. So far, I am not happy here. Just keep traveling up 1604 and find a real luxury apartment this place is bogus. Our last complex offered way more such as game room, basketball court, racketball, volleyball area. ROACH HOTEL! I am into my 3rd yr here and the roach problem has yet to be resolved. They are slow to respond and sometimes don’t respond at all to remedy this disgusting problem. I love my apartment and hate moving so I stayed, hoping things would change and they have gotten worse. Had to throw my Keurig away because it was infested and have found them in my dishwasher and refrigerator! I have woken up at night to them crawling on me in bed! The property manager told me that’s part of apartment... living and I recently put in another request to have my apartment exterminated and almost 1 week later I have yet to hear from them. They don’t even answer their phones, unless I call from a different number. This is just one of MANY problems I have had dealing with management addressing my concerns. Needless to say, I will not be renewing my lease. Don’t let the facade fool you! A few of my neighbors have also had roach problems and a few have moved because of this issue. I just renewed for another year! I love the area and the view that I have looking towards downtown San Antonio. The office staff is friendly and also maintenance. The apartments inside look amazing, and I love my apartment!

I love living here. It's well kept and very quiet community. Property is well kept. Pool is always clean. Package hub easy and sufficient.
