Southgate on Emerald

BIGGEST SCARE OF MY LIFE. Last night someone attempted to break in to my daughter's room. I made a police report and this morning I talked to the leasing office to see if I can end my lease earlier since it ends in late August.
They said no and if I did I would have to pay 2 months worth of rent up front if I wanted to leave on good terms.
The lady basically said I chose to live in this area and they can't don nothing about it. Insinuating that the southside is just bad.. but no.. they've… allowed the criminal activity to thrive. They could stop it but choose not too. The apartments have no lights in the parking area.
Our hallway is pitch black cause they haven't gotten around to fixing the lights. They always said they would get night security but never did.
They rather let me and my kids live here in fear instead of just letting us leave early.
On top of that I got a leaking sink that I called in last Friday about and still no fixing.
If you don't wanna show up on news like a lot of other situations here, please don't wast your time with this place for the safety of your kids. We are just a low income community in the view of their eyes. Statistics that will never change cause of individuals in the front office. Read More

Although the rental rate is affordable, the overall community here is dangerous. There are break ins, shootings, assaults. I don't even allow my children at the playground because there are cops always there even in the daytime.
Front office barley answers their phone. They often will make errors and come after you saying you owe money when you don't.
Please save all receipts and get them initialed by front office.
There are a handful of good neighbors but the others trash the hallways and… don't mind littering right next to your door.
Income restricted apartments always come with a contingency of course...however Rosemount fails to recognize the stigma doesn't have to be the same for all these low income community's but they let it be. Read More

Worse apartments ever, they are always switching people in the office. Only have 2 maintenance people for the whole complex. I have roaches & spiders. Have found some in my newborn bassinet. Have been told pest control only comes out Tuesday and they have a long list of people who need it. I’ve bought so many different things to kill the roaches and spiders but I still have them! My rug was never cleaned when we moved in back in December. One of my showers leaks black stuff, at the top where it… leaks it has mold. As a three and a half year resident at Rosemont at University Park apartments, I can say that I am so glad that I am here. Yes, there are occasional problems, but that happens at all apartment complexes. I do recommend that anyone looking for an apt, should consider applying here.
