Definitely recommend

The negetive reviews are ridiculous. You can look up any
utopia apartment complex & there will always be someone on there complaining like its the worst. Smh. Ima give yall a REAL review. Im a single mom who moved here on my own when i was 28. The apartment was in great condition & management was ehh-ok, pleasent but basic greets basic help etc.. fast forward a couple years, & new management stepped in. Well now that its been the new manager Michelle & assistant manager Cynthia & also Lynn for… some time now- things feel way more genuine & you really feel that southern hospitality type vibe. If i run into them outside they're always shouting "hey brianna!" With a smile on their face. Its a good feeling not being
just another random face to a management team. And for people saying repairs dont get done arent being 100%
truthful. If you put in a work order the proper way-they get the job done asap. Every single time i called and put in a work order, they were here efficiently & fixing my issue effectively. I mean look how many units are here, yall think they got round the clock maintenance men for each individual hit? Of course not! Give the few men that they do have some time, dang! Ever since the pandemic hit I've had several instances with financial struggles. The way this management team has gone to bat for me to the big dogs & how much they have done what they could to help me stay in my home cant be put into words. Man my old apartment complex would say "oh ur struggling? That sucks, cya!" Here they understand ur struggle & try to help you.
One final thing-im from California so I'm not use to bugs, so i was scared for the day id see a roach. I put this on everything-i have never seen a roach in my apartment not one time! Ever! Now that says alot about the place! period!

AMAZING STAFF!

The staff here was absolutely amazing! Cynthia, Michelle, Lynn and Aaron were amazing! They helped me so much and made sure that my move in was as easy as it could be! I am so grateful and thankful! I would DEFINITELY recommend!

Apartments still not rebuilt

We are now going into December and since the hurricane came through 3 months ago all they have done is strip out the apartments. Not one thing has been done to fix the apartments. Plastic for ceilings. Roofs with tarps still on them. Interior walls that are not there. Carpet has been removed as well as the linoleum floors. Trying to use the AC on hot days or heat on cold nights is useless because the AC/heater can't keep up since the plastic ceilings do not insulate anything. Whenever we ask… someone when they are going to fix things, all we hear is, "We don' know".

Most people have either moved out on their own volition or have been told to leave.

The office staff here is not to blame. They are nice people who are as frustrated as most of the remaining tenants. One lives on the premises as does one of the maintenance people.

The management office is in Florida and they are controlling everything. Apparently they had hired workers from Florida to come fix the place up, but then they found out those workers were not licensed in Texas. I would think one of the first things you check on when hiring someone would be their credentials.

I'm not sure what Mockingbird Apartments the previous writer is living in, but it's nothing like what is really going on.

Great Staff after disaster

I have lived here 4 years, I can tell you that nothing brings out the best and worst in people during and after a natural disaster. We have been very fortunate to live here as hurricane harvey hit, minimal damage to our apt, and quick maintenance. Susan and Lynn have been great at organizing the repair efforts so quickly. Compared to some stories I have heard about other complexes in town. Alot of people always like to post the negative in a situation, I for one am greatful to know myself,… husband and 1 year old are taken care of here. The regional maintenence staff and all the inspectors and property repair people have been very helpful, nice, and quick to respond. Thank you Mockingbird Lane staff! We appreciate you!

Everybody needs somewhere to start

Mockingbird Lane Plaza apartments, it's all great until you have been living there for about 7 months. They look nice when you first move in but after you have been there awhile everything goes downhill. They have bats all over the place, the apartments are full of roaches, at the beginning the bug man would come every month, he hasn't been to my apartment in the past 4 months. My AC went out and it took them 3 months to fix it. They have had 3 different maintenance men out here since I've… moved in and no one stays longer then 2 months. The rate for a 2bed 2 bath is $718 and I've recently found out that they have been charging some people $780 for rent. Everytime I call the office it goes to voicemail and they never return my calls. I hate this place and I can't wait till my lease is up.
