Perfect for just the basics

Glendale Apartments are a hidden gem for anyone looking for just the basics in Del Ray/Old Town. It's a quick walk or bike to the Braddock metro as well as to the restaurants and shops in Del Ray, but with the added bonus of a quiet, residential area with green space. There's plenty of parking for all of the units (plus any visitors), and all utilities are included in rent - which is definitely still quite a bit lower than rent at a lot of the new buildings being built in the surrounding area.… The few maintenance issues I had were taken care of within 24 hours, too.

That being said, these aren't luxury apartments; they're older brick buildings that come standard with quite a few layers of latex paint on the walls and the occasional squeaky floorboard. The kitchens are a bit small and do not come with dishwashers or microwaves, and laundry is in the basement of some buildings - but the few inconveniences were well worth it for the price, location, and everything else.
