Noisy and Poorly Built
Living at Notch 8 has not been a great experience, and it's only been a month.
Leasing: Leasing was slow to respond to emails when submitting documents they requested, leading to last minute changes with my renters insurance being needed right before my move-in date.
Noise: Noise is constant. I can hear every step my upstairs neighbor makes from just about anywhere in the apartment. Furthermore, my specific apartment seems to have a mechanical room directly next to it, so I hear equipment... constantly cycling, spinning, whirring, and thudding day and night, which again can be heard anywhere in the apartment. (Appears to be the same issue as this review: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Djcp4mLuTnimV8kx8) This disturbs the enjoyment of my apartment during the day and my sleep at night. The issue was reported the day I moved in, but nothing was done to investigate or resolve the issue. After submitting a survey and a formal ticket, building management has been more responsive. However, after being told on Monday that the chief engineer would look into the issue, the response to my follow up email on that following Friday was that the engineer was on vacation, so nothing moved forward for a week since I understood management started looking into the issue.
Finishes: You can tell the apartment has been lived in quite a lot. Misaligned drawers, cabinetry finishes peeling off, tape on walls painted over, and crooked cabinets all demonstrate minimal effort put into cleaning and repairing the unit between residents.
I love the floor plan and the huge patio for the dog, but those are just about the only positives I can come up with right now in my frustration.
