Camden Lansdowne

Our experience at Camden Lansdowne was so bad, we were forced to pay thousands of dollars in order to break our lease due to the negligence of the management team here.

Management has blatantly ignored complaints from us, and many other tenants regarding excessive noise. We've had problems with people playing very loud music at random times of the day including very late into the night from anywhere between 5 pm and 5am. Every time we contact management about this issue, they only tell us… "They've been issued a warning" which to our knowledge means nothing at all since everyone gets infinite amounts of warnings and each warning comes with absolutely no repercussions.

The maintenance team will enter your apartment anytime they wish for any reason despite not having your approval. We submitted a work order about a month before we left and EXPLICITLY asked to be informed before maintenance came to fix the issue in order to put our puppy away and secure some of our belongings. We were NOT notified and they just entered our apt anyway. This was one of several times where maintenance entered our apartment despite being asked for some warning. Management didn't seem to care about this issue either.

Upon move in, our bathtub was defective and when maintenance came to look at it, we were told it would take about 48 hrs for the epoxy to dry and we'd have to leave and stay some where else because of the fumes. Why wasn’t this OBVIOUS issue fixed before move in? There is no good excuse.

I could point out more reasons why we ultimately decided to leave before our lease was up, but I think you get the idea. I would recommend avoiding Camden Lansdowne and all other Camden apartment complexes and continue searching elsewhere. After living here for 6 months I renewed for another 3 as I wasn't quite ready to move yet (and at a much higher cost mind you because they squeeze you for every penny). So, I'm late on rent this month (by a couple days) though I paid $2000 and only owe about $200 they tell me I have to pay a $211 late fee because the terms of my lease changed from only owing 10% of the delinquent amount to 10% of the WHOLE amount. I moved into Camden Apartments after a divorce and downsizing from a 4-bedroom house. I could tell you all the usual things you would expect from an apartment review. The staff is friendly. The maintenance department is timely. The grounds are neatly kept. The three pools and gyms are well maintained. While all that is true and is important when looking for a place to live, that’s not why I’m recommending Camden. My story is personal. As a 40 female, living on my own for the first time, I… was understandably nervous. My closest family was 5 hours away. Several months after moving in, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The staff called me at the hospital to check up on me after my surgery. They had flowers delivered to my apartment. The maintenance guys carry boxes and groceries up to my 4th floor apartment. Every staff member addresses me by name, says hello and asks after me. They always ask if I need anything. What a comfort to live in a community where the caretakers of the property care enough to get to know you. Is Camden perfect? No, of course not. What place is? I've lived her for a little over a year now. I love the apartment itself. The kitchen is spacious and so are the bedrooms. The pools and gyms are great. The neighborhood is awesome! I do not like the fact that you can't pick your cable company or that you get charged for valet waste service and do not have the option to decline it. Parking is a nightmare.
