Overpriced / Worst Building in the Area for $
I've lived at Alexan 100 for 1.5 years, and while the location is undeniably convenient, nearly everything else about my experience has been disappointing.
Noise & Vibration Issues:
I live on the 2nd floor directly above the internal parking garage. Every single vehicle that enters or exits causes loud noise and vibrations throughout my apartment. Management initially agreed to leave the internal gate open between 10:30 PM and 10:00 AM to reduce the disturbance. That agreement was tossed aside... after the leasing manager (who also lives in the building) decided that “crime stats are too high” to honor it. Ironically, the gates do nothing to stop bike theft or prevent homeless individuals from sleeping in stairwells and hallways—but they do ensure I lose sleep.
Misleading Leasing Practices:
I wasn’t shown my unit before signing and was fed the usual “they go fast, no complaints from previous tenants” sales pitch. I now realize that was just a tactic to get me to sign. I feel misled and manipulated.
Natural Light & Utility Charges:
If you live on the north side of the building, expect zero sunlight in your apartment. Also, water bills are inconsistent and not based on actual usage—just another hidden cost.
Community & Events:
Living next to Seattle Center means you’ll hear every concert, festival, and event whether you want to or not. And with each event comes trash and a 3–4 day cleanup delay on your street.
Management & Support:
The leasing team is all smiles until you need something. Then it’s radio silence or empty promises. It’s a “we hear you, but we won’t do anything about it” kind of relationship.
Bottom Line:
I would not recommend living here. There are better-priced buildings in the area with more responsive management and better amenities. Don’t be fooled by the surface-level charm—dig deeper before signing anything --- SEE YOUR APARTMENT FIRST!
