They put brown paint on a rotting, old, yellow colored complex, changed names, changed management and voila, rebirth!! Crown Plaza was reborn as Westwynd!!!

Westwynd, known for many years as Crown Plaza Apartments, is a close to 60 year old rotting complex with serious issues. Putting brown lipstick on an old yellow pig doesn't necessarily make it better.

After a new management company purchased and took over this rotting complex, they just made some cosmetic changes, but the rotting… structure and serious mold issues remain. Do some research on this new management company - they have gone bankrupt a few times under various names.

Soon after the new management company took over, harassment of long time residents started - subtly at first, but it got more and more blatant and shameless soon after. Their goal was to drive out long time residents by using any tactic they can so that they can jack up the rent and bring in new residents. They even harassed residents who had signed a one year lease. They cooked up the story that they had to "remodel" every single apartment and they offered residents to either just move to another place or to move to another apartment within the same complex while they "remodeled" your apartment. This was clearly a tactic to make it inconvenient for long time residents to the point where they just gave up and left. I guess legally they were not allowed to increase the rent above a certain percent for long time residents, but if they could just get rid of them, then they could jack up the rent and rent the apartments to new residents.

They posted unnecessary signs every other day on residents' doors and found an excuse to enter the apartments. Sometimes it was smoke detector inspection, sometimes it was this, and sometimes it was that. This was very inconvenient for someone like me who works late night shifts. An untouched note left on a door in the middle of the night is an open invitation to the multitudes of would-be burglars and vagrants who frequent this complex freely. This new management company stopped using the security company that used to patrol the area at night because of their "cost cutting" measures.

I moved in several months ago, and I am very pleased with my unit and surrounding. The grounds are clean and if I notice issues they are resolved next day. Any time I have commented about a minor thing it has been resolved very quickly and with complete professionalism. I have recommended this complex to my friends and family if they are looking.

My family lives on site and coming to visit I couldn't be more please with the changes to the property and management. The girls in the office are friendly and helpful! Would recommend!
