Katz properties does absolutely nothing to take care of this place. Simple things take weeks/months to solve. There was about a 1-2 month stretch when there was ONE working washer and dryer in the basement for a building that has 80-100 units. I often hear of bed bug infestation(did not happen to me). The doors and locks are so outdated some of them, including mine, don’t even fit the frames. I had to lock the deadbolt every time for the door to fully close.

The only positive I can say about... this place is that Lake Michigan is a very short walk. But take it from a guy who lived here 2 years in 2 different apts, the extra money you’ll spend on a nicer place will be well worth it. Read More

Lived here for a year. Bathroom was inside the closet and there was no ventilation. On top of that my ceiling would leak water?? I guess from my upstairs neighbor using the tub & by the end of my lease there was mold on the ceiling. I told The on-site apartment manager/maintenance guy and he said he would just paint over it….

DO NOT MOVE HERE! Lived here in August 2019 was not notified that last year! Almost ALL tenants were infested with bed bugs having to throw away beds and couches (they acted as if it was a normal thing to happen annually). Asked Gus (housing manger) specifically if there has been any bug issues before signing he stated none. February 2020 our place was infested with bed bugs! Gus did not let any residents know that multiple rooms were being sprayed for a bed bug infestation. Katz do not treat... with heat, they only spray for bed bugs. With spray treatment the bugs crawl on the carpet and even through walls!! To get into other apartment running from the spray! Always thought Gus was painting a lot, it’s because there are bed bugs literally infestations in the walls of this building! Do not move here!!!! Read More

DO NOT MOVE HERE. my neighbors had bed bugs that were crawling under the shared wall i had with them, and after several repeated complaints to the property manager and massive bites all over my neck, legs, shoulders, and legs, i vacated the apartment before my lease was up. They never resolved the issue and even admitted that other floors had bed bugs as well, but would not fumigate the entire building because they would have to find hotel accommodations for everyone in the building.

Ever since Kattz bought this place from Pockross, all they've done is remodel the outside to make it look good so they'll bring more money in. It's a rather old building so lots of fixing has to be done inside. They've totally neglected the needs of the tenants. I've never even seen my building manager since they've bought the place, he never answers the phone (ever). The building was a little shabby looking when Pockross owner it but they were good people; they showed up and took care of issues... when you had them and you had to wait no longer than 3 business days. I've been complaining about the same things for months. If you have a car, don't even bother. Rent may be affordable but the amount of parking tickets is another rent check.
