Diversey Manor

Been living here for about 10 months and I like the apartment. The location is in the center of everything (coffee shops, restaurants, groceries, pharmacy…). The landlord is responsive and the space is cozy. Very happy with the living situation so far!

I've been renting here for a good 10 or so months now, and I have never had any major issues. The other reviewer is not wrong, you can hear people in the hallways or when they're moving around sometimes. Your mileage may vary on that. For me, it's relatively quiet and the times where I feel I am being genuinely disturbed by the noise are infrequent. There is a designated 'quiet period' (9pm-9am) so if there are people being unreasonably loud (sometimes you have to wake up early and do things,... life happens) that seems like a conversation to have with the inhabitant of the apartment.

For the good, this place is in a fantastic area. The property itself is well-maintained. The neighborhood is quiet, and you're close to all the stores on Silver Spring, as well as being within walking distance of Bayshore and Lake Michigan. It was very warm in the winter, and if you needed to cool down the apartment simply opening a window did wonders. I love the area, I think this property is situated in a beautiful location.

For the bad, I only have one complaint that is more concerned with personal safety in inclement weather. There is no central air conditioning, so on hot summer days it would get HOT. I believe you are allowed a window AC unit, but without one it was a rough summer. I'm sure it wasn't always a concern, but with rising temperatures perhaps it would be a good future investment?

Not a quiet place to rent if you really value your sleep…very old building, poorly isolated. You get the full noise package from stomping, loud neighbors, dragging furnitures, slamming doors etc….choose wisely !!!
