Excellent staff! Professional, kind, and incredibly helpful.
Applying for an apartment can be very stressful, especially when moving from out of state. My experience with 22 Slate has been wonderful, thanks to Renee. She was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process and made our transition to another state smooth and stress-free. Renee answered all of my emails promptly, and the entire process took less than a week.
My husband and I are scheduled to move in tomorrow, January 20th, and Renee was kind enough to let us see the final touches on the... apartment last week. We can’t wait to move in and make this our new home.

Renters beware
During my residency, there were ongoing safety and cleanliness concerns, including a serious violent incident involving a death in one of the buildings, which greatly impacted my sense of safety. I also personally observed suspected drug-related activity, frequent off-leash dogs despite posted rules, and dog waste left throughout common areas.
Package theft from the package room occurred repeatedly for a period of time,
Inside my unit, we experienced cockroach issues, which management... attributed to a neighboring apartment rather than addressing the problem thoroughly. The buildings feel worn down, with thin walls and frequent maintenance failures.
The water quality caused extreme mineral and calcium buildup that hardened despite regular cleaning.
Our washer broke and was marked as repaired when it was not. Our clothes were locked inside for nearly two months, forcing us to use laundry facilities in another building. When the clothes were finally returned, they were moldy and unusable, resulting in a total loss.
Maintenance and communication were persistent issues. Staff entered our unit to change filters without proper notice. We transferred units mid-lease, only to find the new unit had a broken stove. The dishwasher later failed, and an attempted repair flooded the kitchen.
Around Thanksgiving, residents above us stored a large quantity of propane tanks inside their apartment. Due to safety concerns, we contacted authorities and were told it was an unsafe amount. Despite video documentation, management dismissed the situation.
After I provided documentation for an emotional support animal related to my service-connected PTSD, management’s attitude toward us noticeably changed.
Customer service was consistently unprofessional and unreliable. We were repeatedly given conflicting information about lease terms, fees, and policies. Management later acknowledged providing incorrect information and referred to it as “miscommunication.” Requests to see written policies were often refused.
When moving out, I attempted to arrange a lease transfer, something I had done previously. Management reversed course, claimed the transfer was not allowed, then stated they had reviewed the wrong lease due to another resident with the same name. The cited policies were never provided.
These apartments are not luxury, despite being marketed that way. Repairs were delayed or ineffective, amenities were overcrowded, and management lacked transparency and accountability.

Modern and quiet
I lived at 22 Slate for the last year, and wouldn't be moving if I hadn't upgraded to being a homeowner. The apartments and fixtures are nice and modern, and I love that the faux hardwood flooring and limited carpet in the apartment made it feel easier to clean. I love that for the most part, package carriers leave things in the key-entry mailroom for extra security. The community is quiet and really well situated close to shops/restaurants. Management has always been very communicative about... things going on in the community or maintenance check-ins. Sometimes guests have to park a bit away from my building, but that's not the end of the world. My only complaints are some people driving well above the speed limit around the community, and that it can be annoying that some package carriers will leave things at your mailbox rather than the package room, so sometimes you have to go searching. Neither of these are management's fault, though. I would definitely recommend living here!

A beautiful community
I moved into 22 Slate and absolutely love it here. The staff members are always helpful and courteous. My apartment is well appointed, rather large for a 1BR, and has all the features I need. The apartment building and community ground are well maintained, daily. Having free garage parking is a real luxury. The brand-new pool, fitness and community center also recently opened. I highly recommend you come and see this community yourself. Once you see it, you will not want to leave.
