so so

I lived here from 2011-2013 while attending school. Anytime you put a lot of people in a smallish area, there will be issues. Biggest issues were either neighbors throwing a big loud party (called cops) that went too late at night. Or the daytime arguments from the (former?) junkie (also an indoor chain smoker) and his junkie girlfriend. Security in the parking lot is absent: someone's vehicle is broken into ~twice a month (advice: remove everything from inside, use the club to... lock steering wheel, and leave unlocked). Other than that, the place is 4 - 4.5 stars. Laundry machines can be iffy, but are on site. Grill always worked. Included appliances, though old, did the job. Electric, water, included. Bike routes to the schools are reasonably safe.

Misleading

The features listed here claim this is a "smoke free" property. This is far from the truth. We live above an indoor chainsmoker, our apartment consistently smells like a low-end casino with poor ventilation. It has been this way for over a month. Leases here specify that you can't claim second hand smoke as a nuisance, and there is little initiative regarding residents who smoke indoors, frequently. If you're concerned not just about smoking neighbors, but chainsmoking ones, this is not the... place for you.

I rated this as two stars. If it were not for the smoking I would give it four stars. It is a quiet complex, and the grounds are well maintained. Police presence in the complex is rarely seen, and residents are varied across age groups. We have lived year for a number of years, and have switched units when downsizing. Prior to moving I would have given four stars. The changes to our quality of life, as well as the fact that we pay additional pet rent, while smokers pay no more, encourages me to give two.
