The HSL staff assigned to this Apartment can be quite incompetent and their communication skills are nonexistent. From sewer leaks, soiled carpet, and other issues I have experienced nothing but a HASSLE. Just to get my carpet replaced by HSL I had to call corporate because the front office kept giving me the run around and excuses of "Well you live in an apartment". For the rent I pay the value isn't really their aside from living space. The amenities are really outdated to include the... cabinets and other hardware.
Most summers the A/C goes out for a day or two and the power cuts off a lot. Neighbors are noisy and inconsiderate. They dump large pieces of furniture in the dumpster all the time clogging it. The homeless always cut through these apartments to go to lakeside park and use. They've been caught trying to steal copper and other items from apartments. My bike was also stolen from my front porch the second day I moved in. No security at all during the day and I've never seen them at night. There is also a rehab facility across the street that causes trouble because of the homeless. The surrounding area isn't kept up and you can find massive mounds of trash, carts filled with trash and old fires that the homeless started.
The amount of rent I pay when compared to the value isn't realistic. Other apartments that have my set up for the same price are updated, safer and more modern. As well as more competently trained staff. Furthermore, Maintenance is constantly moving through employees so work orders are extremely backlogged. Also, within three years of living here the water has been out for days on over 5 occasions. I constantly have to ask for pest control since adjacent units are unclean and have roaches.
There are so many better apartments to live in aside from Springhill. This is my last year living here before I move out. Never again will I rent from HSL Properties.
