DIY St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Bunting

Looking for quick and easy DIY St. Patrick’s Day decorations? This burlap shamrock bunting fits the bill perfectly. You only need a few supplies and a few minutes to put this together and get your mantel decorated for St. Patrick’s Day! Shamrock Bunting The burlap is a perfect background for green and gold, and your mantel will be festively decked out in no time! DIY Burlap Shamrock Bunting Here’s what you need:
  • burlap
  • green and gold paper
  • scissors
  • twine
  • hot glue (or spray adhesive or a glue stick)
This bunting is super easy to put together! Start by cutting shamrocks out of your gold and green paper. Then cut squares of burlap to be an inch or two bigger than the shamrocks on all sides. Burlap_and_paper_shamrocks_bunting[1] Glue each shamrock onto a square of burlap. I used spray adhesive to make sure all corners and edges were attached well, but a glue stick or a few dots of hot glue will work too! Just be careful when gluing burlap; the holes in the burlap fabric will allow glue to seep through. I found it best to glue on top of a scrap piece of wood so that the glue that seeped through didn’t stick to my desk or the butcher paper I usually use to protect my desk. Once the glue is dry, it’s time to attach each burlap square to the twine to make a garland. Turn one burlap square face down, lay the twine across the top of it, run a thin line of hot glue just below the twine, and then fold the burlap over on itself, encasing the twine. Remember, hot glue is extremely hot, so put on gloves or use a paper towel to protect your hands. (Just make sure not to glue the paper towel to your project!)
