Kitchen shelves and cabinets can get boring. Most kitchens have completely closed off shelving units, covered by cabinets or doors. To change up the usual cabinetry, try open shelving. Use these photos as inspiration for your own apartment. Open shelving space can put your interesting plates and kitchen goods on display. You can even add vases and plants to make your space more inviting.       Although you might not be able to accomplish this in your apartment due to landlord restrictions, it sure is something to consider for your next place!
