This is not a roommate situation. Here you have your own private unit. You have a key to the building front door, entering into the common hallway, and a key to your private room off that hallway. You come and go as you please. Your relationship to your neighbors is similar to that you would have in an apartment building, that is to say, as friendly or as formal as you care to make it, but you are sharing bathrooms on the hallway with your neighbors.

The room is clean and in good condition. We provide basic furniture (bed, chair, desk) for no additional charge, if you want it. We do not have a kitchen, but we supply a refrigerator and microwave in your room, and there are a number of inexpensive restaurants in the area. High speed internet is available from the usual providers.

The location is excellent. Easy access to San Francisco, the University of California at Berkeley, downtown Berkeley, West Berkeley, downtown Oakland, and other East Bay points via public transportation. Parking is usually not difficult. The local bus stop is one block away. McArthur BART is about eight blocks away and can be accessed via a free local shuttle, the Emery Go-Round. We are a short walk from Safeway, 7-Eleven, Bank of America, Target, Arismendi Bakery, Subway, Wing Stop, Panda Express, Starbucks, Kentucky Fried Chicken, International House of Pancakes, and many restaurants including Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, etc.

We prefer a year lease, however we are happy to accommodate short-term tenants for an additional charge.
