Responsive staff and great facilities

I lived at 540 Midvale during the 2024-2025 school year and had an excellent experience. The staff was always helpful and attentive, and the apartment itself exceeded my expectations. The amenities—including the gym, hot tub, and study spaces—were fantastic and well-maintained. Maintenance issues were rare, but when they did arise, the staff responded quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend 540 Midvale to anyone looking for housing for the upcoming year!

I have lived in a barn and that was preferable to this.

The apartments are perfectly mediocre: small to mid size, cheaply built, and vaguely dirty. That is the best thing that can be said about this place.

Currently, only 3 of the 8 laundry machines are working. It has been this way for over a week. We lose hot water at least once a month for days at a time. The management is fully non responsive to any concerns.

We have roaches. It took over two weeks for the roaches to be addressed, and guess what? THERE ARE STILL ROACHES.

I have literally...
slept in my car to avoid coming back to this apartment at night. For the same price (or better) you can get a really nice, fully furnished apartment in Westwood.

This place is so bad they had to start a rewards program to get just a handful of good reviews.

Overpriced

This place is way too expensive and they split the amenities between the whole building so you pay a ton each month for water. And the boiler was broken many times last year and the water had to be shut down for 10 hours at a time and we were always given incorrect estimates of when it would be back.

DO NOT rent

Management does not care about renter's living comfort. They are greedy and care more about having the apartment look nice to attract next year's renters. Rent hikes up about 5% every year due to "inflation." Of all the students I know, no one renews their lease after the first year. Also, there were constant maintenance issues. The elevator was out of service often and did not have proper certificates of safety, we frequently had our locks break and would not be able to get into our apartment... or rooms, and our overhead sprinkler dripped liquid for several weeks. Management did not care and said that it would take several weeks for it to be fixed, until we threatened legal action. Then they fixed it the next day.

My experience here can be summed up from one unfortunate event. One time, I was leaving the apartment, and the doorknob broke, leaving me locked inside. I couldn't turn the handle and get out of my own apartment, and I lived on the fourth floor. I called the front desk, the maintenance line, and the emergency line, and there was no response because that day, the management was busy showing prospective tenants around the building. I was locked in my own apartment for an hour (which was an extreme fire hazard) and I was only able to get out because I yelled loud enough for a cleaning lady to hear me. When I confronted management about this issue, they said it was an unfortunate event and did not apologize.
