Horrible Management/Workers/Living Situations

I’ve lived here for more than 15 years. Current management here does not care about tenants. Maintenance workers don’t even try to put in any effort in repairs. Constant water repairs every week, leaks, random people getting into the building, broken AC while the management does not look into a repairman, and over charging tenets for repairs when this is made for low-income individuals/families. It doesn’t make sense when it’s already the maintenance workers job, yet I have to pay them. This is... just a few of the list of issues here. This building used to be so nice, with excellent management. The owner needs to reevaluate who they hire and take a step back to see what the tenants need. At this point, they’re doing the bare minimum to run the building in order to make as much profit as possible.

WORST MANAGEMENT

I've been living here for around 10 years. Recently, a new manager came in, and I can say for a FACT that things have gone downhill. I don't know her name, but I know her assistant's name is Shay. This new manager is outright rude to the tenants (she YELLS at tenants!), spends most of the day on her phone, and does not listen to tenant's issues. She got rid of security, meaning that people's cars have been broken into, and there have been crackheads and RATS wandering around the lobby. The... showers only turn lukewarm, meaning during the winter there is NO HOT WATER when I'm trying to shower. 0/5 stars, really upsetting that she does not care about tenants, just cares about her paycheck.

Awful experience living at Sheraton town house last 10 years.

I've lived here last ten years at this property. About two years ago both elevators got broken and people walked up and down the stairs for 4months. Manager isnt there for the tenants she was there to speaks for Management. Also I witnessed Manager receiving many gifts from tenants. Worst experience is that my car was stolen from parking lot and management did nothing to improve the security. There were no security cam at parking lot.

A historical gem looking over LA

You’re not going to find an apartment with these kind of amenities and prices anywhere in LA. I had the pleasure of living here for 5 years in a 2 bedroom apartment with an Olympic sized swimming pool, crown molding, a fireplace (not functional), floor to ceiling windows and views of downtown on one side and the Hollywood sign in the other (now blocked by Target). This 1920s building was originally the first 4 Star hotel in LA and you can see the history in the lobby and ballrooms that now house... dance schools. In this melting pot you’ll hear salutations from the neighbors in a plethora of languages but all of them friendly.

Of course, due to its age it has its quirks. The elevators sometimes breakdown, improvements for plumbing leave the water off during the day at least once a month. Parking is tandem with neighbors but in K-town you should be grateful for parking. My car has been broken into twice. The low income pricing comes with rules, and every few months they need to enter to change a filter, check fire alarms, and leave preventative pest control. Some are surprised by the level of noise but you’re on a major street in Los Angeles across from a park.

Being in the middle of the city has its perks. La Fayette Community Center is across the street where there are tons of affordable programs for families. Wilshire Vermont Red Line Station is two blocks away along with Starbucks, Chipotle, Denny’s, and the bustling nightlife of Koreatown. Then there’s the free utilities, great air conditioning, spacious living room and hard working manager. It’s not perfect but those who are lucky enough to get in are usually sad to leave.
