Capitol Towers - Towers and Villas

The apartments may seem to be a wow factor when you first see them, but don't be fooled. I've only been here for a few weeks and I'm already so frustrated. Starting with the application they delayed it so much that we didn't know if we were approved until just 2 days before the move-in date. They stopped answering my phone calls when I called to check up on my application and get my questions answered. They claim to be short-staffed, which I would understand if they were still getting back to... the residents in one way or another. There is no sign of answering phone calls or emails. The only way to ever reach them is to physically go into the office at the time and if you're lucky you just might find them. They are rarely ever in the office when you need them and take forever to reply to any maintenance issues. At this point, they are just giving false information that they cannot keep up with because it seems like they don't know what they're doing. It hasn't even been a month since i've moved in and I have no idea how in going to handle the rest of the lease term here. I would advise anyone to stay away from this complex. When we moved in it was clear that the unit had not been properly cleaned, hair and dust was everywhere. We moved in just before they started building a new tower of units (directly next to our unit) and we were not asked to sign any waivers regarding this- while those who moved in after us were asked to do so even though they had already began advertising that they would be building. Our whole time living here construction began at at least... 6am, and much earlier sometimes, there was no dust control and the sound was unbearable. During a time when many folks are working from home, this is especially problematic. In addition to this, the laundry room is regularly broken into and used as a bathroom for local homeless people. The washing and drying units do not work at least half the time. The company they use for landscaping would regularly just blow all the leaves and twigs from walkways and the roofs into the first floor patios, which fell and broke things on our patio multiple times. The air conditioning regularly goes out, and trying to get ahold of maintenance is incredibly challenging. We went over a week without a working shower/tub because of their inability to communicate with eachother. The staff is rude and never answered their phones. Close to work, parking is not an issue, DOCO/mid-town right here. It's quite with concrete floor construction, and everyone is friendly. Great big window/slider, pool, spa, and gym.

This place is awful. Office staff is ridiculously rude as soon as you sign a lease. There are cockroaches everywhere, including the laundry room. Heater & AC is always out for the building.
I was changing in my apartment, the maintenance guy unlocked my door and helped himself into my apartment. When he realized I was there, he said he had the wrong place.

Just an overall excellent place to live! Everything was. convenient and at your disposal. It was as though one were coming home to a luxury hotel after coming home from a work day at the Capital. Which I must add was short pleasant hop, skip, and a jump away. Ahh such find memories indeed. Unbelievable, but the rent was $350 a month for a studio. Better times, better days...it was 1986.
