I have been a resident at The Rise for four years. I moved here at the end of 2020, and was offered a rent concession as a move-in offer, which I gladly accepted. What attracted me the most to the building was its proximity to the freeway (I work in SSF), its amenities (mostly for my dog) and appliances offered in the apartment. After spending a lengthy amount of time at this residence, I have few comments:
Pros
Amenities - Beautiful rooftop, bbq, dog wash, dog run, communal kitchen, outdoor... movie/game area
Apartment - Spacious for price, with newer appliances (dishwasher, washer, dryer, range)
Off street parking available - I initially parked on the street when I moved in, but my car was broken into three times within the first year. The management was nice enough to offer me free secure parking, as a concession.
Building maintenance (the staff is very helpful and timely in getting things done)

Cons
The neighborhood - The Rise is located directly behind a homeless shelter and on a daily basis one can find people sleeping on the street or rampant drug use in any direction, within blocks of this building
Building security - Despite the many attempts that the building has made at securing the site, there have been multiple break-ins and robberies in the garage, mail room and lobby every single year that I've lived here
Front desk - There has been so much turnover with the people that work at the front desk, that I can barely remember any of their names. They generally stay for only a few months, then move on

Overall, I've enjoyed living here with my dog mainly due to convenience, but as the neighborhood and safety around the building has shown no improvement over the last four years, it might be time to find a new residence. Read More

At once I was greeted with friendly and helpful staff members who were quickly able to solve some of my initial problems before I’d even had a chance to voice them. The building is quiet and secure, my apartment comfortable and clean. Im still figuring some things out but it’s beginning to feel like home. I admit, having my own washer dryer has a lot to do with that!

The Rise is well maintained and managed. I'm comfortable living there and would recommend the building to other's.

I love living at The Rise Hayes Valley! I have been provided excellent service from the leasing office while living here, and although there were some hiccups, I feel like that's to be considered whenever moving to a new place.

I've been here for about a month, but everyone is so kind, the space is clean, and management really tries their best to assist you with your needs. There are also a ton of amenities which is what I love, and the lounge is a super comfy area for anyone that is a resident... here. Read More

Living the Hayes valley for almost 3 years it has been, nice and staff are very friendly and ready to help we you need it. I am happy living here and is also pet friendly and they have treats for the dog.
