Gabriela Apartments

I lived in this building for over 25 years and before COVID, it was tolerable. At the time I moved out, tents of homeless people lined the sides of the building, making it unsafe and often possible for outsiders to get into the property and steal mail/packages.

Despite our concerns and complaints, management wouldn’t add cameras or other safety measures to help prevent that.

Washing and drying machines would constantly break down but they didn’t care. Once the elevator was out of service... for almost a month, inconveniencing A LOT of elderly/disabled tenants. And mind you, an elevator is an amenity - management should have discounted rents for that month, but didn’t.

But my main beef now is, even after having moved out a year ago, the property manager still hasn’t returned my security deposit. Emails from me and the Housing Authority, have been ignored.

Plus, she STILL hasn’t removed my name and cell phone number from the call box, so here I am, ONE YEAR LATER getting phone calls from people asking to be buzzed in.

So, if you want to live in a building where your mail/packages could get stolen, have homeless people sneak in the building and lock themselves in the laundry room to sleep (yup, I experienced that), then I guess this is the perfect place for you.

Does frequent apartment inspections but repairs never gets done. Apartment is so called affordable housing and rent controlled but rent keeps being raised.
