Century Towers

I could give a zero if possible.
I lived here for 2 years straight. Had a few hiccups but it was all fine. One of few places that I really liked a lot. I lived in the C2 plan. It is sad to give a zero star to a place I like much.

The stay
Office staff was helpful almost all of times. Maintenance staff response is mostly quick and responsive. Amenities are well maintained. There was a time when there were rats around and I complained a few times and it was taken care of quickly. We were on a… month to month for last few months. We gave our 30 day notice but had to stretch beyond our last day for another 20 days. We moved out earlier than what we had payed for. They did let us know that they would refund back the whatever $ for the days we didnt stay at the place since we turned in our keys sooner than the last date. Seems like a positive experience so far? Then why the 0 star?

Post move out
This is where the drama starts. We just choose to get the apartment cleaned by the community vendor and pay for it. We had a pre-move out inspection close to 2 weeks before our moveout and minor charges were mentioned worth $500. This was signed by us and the person inspecting the apartment. A week after our moveout we get a bill of $1800+ for carpet, stove and refrigerator replacement. Carpet had past a 5 year life - meaning we were not responsible for any carpet replacement charges,.Stove had normal wear - again we are not responsible to fixing this. Refrigerator was claimed to have scratches when the fact is there is no scratches at all. When asked for photos - they could not show us clear photos capturing the scratches on the refrigerator. I also have a $600 deposit which I paid during application process and had 0 hopes that would be returned even before the moveout. On questioning the $1800 charges and why we need to pay for whatever the normal wear and tear which the apartment is responsible for , I get offered a 30% discount on stove cost, 30% on refrigerator cost. You are trying to bargain with the tenants seriously?

So summary, the company lacks ethics, does not care about customer satisfaction. You will not get your deposit back for sure. In addition, you will be charged 3-4 times of anticipated move-out charges. So conclusion, Stay at this place if you want to get ripped off your money or have excess money. Read More

I had an apartment tour appointment at 12:30 pm, they sent a confirmation of the appointment via email, and I was asked to come to the address 1729 N First Street San Jose. I waited for 20 minutes outside the building. Tried to reach out to the leasing office multiple times and no answer. Finally, someone picked up my phone and that person put me on hold for 10 minutes just to say that he was not able to reach the front office and asked me to come back another time. After 10 minutes leasing… manager reached out to me and she was like I'm waiting for you where are you? I told her I'm at the address where I supposed to be, she said I'll come to get you. After 5 minutes she called me and said I was not there, our leasing office is on century street, please come here. At this time I realized this is not a place for me because they don't know what they are doing. Wasted my 30 minutes. Terrible communication and management. Everday at 515am, the buiding supervisor drags out the dumpsters, which makes a terrible noise. It is impossible to sleep throught this. It makes no sense. Normal residential pickup would not be this early.

Amazing view, very clean and hygenic property , well maintained, spacious, near to VTA train stop. Staff is very helpful everytime ??
Great experience loved living here.
