Run Don't Walk Away
I lived here for two year. During my time here, the property changed management multiple times, and unfortunately, each new team was worse than the last. The current management under Avenue5 is by far the most unprofessional I've experienced. In October 2025, shortly after I had my newborn, our power was unexpectedly shut off. After going back and forth with Xcel Energy and the leasing office, we discovered the issue: our apartment was connected to the wrong electrical meter. That meant we had... been paying for someone else's electricity for over a year.
I met with Ruth in person, and she assured me the issue would be corrected. However, in March, our power was shut off again because nothing had actually been fixed. When we brought it up, Ruth claimed she had never been made aware of the problem, despite our previous conversations. We were also told the issue wasn't management's responsibility, even though they acknowledged another building was experiencing the same problem. Additionally, they couldn't keep their stories straight between both the assistant property manager and property manager. They both had conflicting reasons as to why our power was shut off and told me and my partner both different stories.
Then, in May, our power was shut off for a third time. The property manager, Sherrie, was dismissive and argumentative, repeatedly insisting the issue wasn't the property's responsibility, despite Colorado law placing the responsibility on the property owner in this situation. On top of that, I personally overheard Sherrie speaking negatively about residents who had legitimate concerns, which was incredibly unprofessional. The entire experience was exhausting. We lost hundreds of dollars in food twice because of the outages and had to find alternative accommodations with an infant because living without electricity simply wasn't an option. I had to miss work and leave early on several days to try and fix this issue. Rather than showing empathy or taking ownership, management consistently deflected responsibility and treated residents with disrespect.
Beyond the electrical issues, the overall condition of the property has declined significantly. Dog waste is left throughout the grounds, landscaping is poorly maintained, building doors are often unsecured, and package theft is a constant problem. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Avenue5 management was so frustrating that I feel compelled to warn others.
