Decent place to live

I currently live on the fourth floor. It’s pretty quiet. I do not hear my neighbors at all. I am awakened frequently by the sirens from the street. There are homeless outside that are sometimes loud but they don’t bother anyone. Staff is great and really nice. I can tell that the apartment staff does try to keep the common areas clean. The staff cannot supervise all residents at all times so there are times when there is trash left but it is cleaned quickly.
There are residents who don’t follow...
the rules on smoking in the building. It does sometimes smell of drugs in the hall.
The gym here is nice. Since there are a limited number of elevators moving in/ moving out is a pain. My apartment location isn’t near the garage so it is a long walk to my door everyday but that also means it’s not much foot traffic near me. Great amenities here. I like the package drop off and trash pick up. The fiber internet is super convenient too.

DO NOT LIVE HERE

For starters I want to point out that the apartment itself was nice on the inside. The apartments are marketed as "luxury" and the leasing building is well maintained. Then you really get to know the rest of the apartment. The street outside was extremely loud (corner of Potomac & Colfax). The "garage" door that we paid for was broken for 8 out of the 12 months I lived there, yet I still paid a monthly fee for it. The 2 hot tubs were broken for at least 4 months that we lived there. I was told I... couldn't swim in our pool on the hottest weekend of the year because the phone lines were down, yet they still made us pay an amenity fee every month for the non-functioning pool & hot tub. The printer never had paper in it. Fetch (the system used for package delivery) is the worst invention known to man. The first night I used it my packages were stolen from in front of my apartment and neither Fetch nor Forum would take responsibility or refund me. We wanted to try to get out of our lease early because we did not feel safe anymore at the apartment and the office simply said there is nothing they can do to help us. DO NOT live here if you have a choice.

Major security and car vandalism issues

My buddy just moved into this place from out of state a couple months ago and while the place is pretty nice looking the management is failing at providing secure storage or adequate security patrols. His car and others have been broken into by people who can just prowl the parking facility looking for vehicles to steal. They tried to steal his but were unable to due to security measures he has taken. He was told by the leasing office they are not responsible for the damages to his car and... will not let him out of his lease so he can live someplace where his property will be safe. Maybe they shouldn't advertise "secure parking" if they cannot come close to proving that. Judging by all of the other 1 start security related reviews it looks to be a big problem here.

Do not move in! Way over priced and not safe!! My truck along with probably 6 other vehicles that I know of have been stolen not to mention all the vehicles broken into. The complex does not warn renters when moving in that its not safe and give a false impression its safe when its not. The doors that should be secure are usually broke and anyone could come right into the building.
