Echo Ridge Apartments

Was a resident for over a year and so glad to of moved out. This place is horrible. Not sure what you are paying for at this place. Maintenance is a joke. The stairs are literally falling apart. They are made of concrete and could fall on you at anytime. Ive seen huge chunks just on the ground. When they do notice how bad they are it takes them weeks to repair them. They have the concrete stairs just waiting to be installed but instead they wait until they are falling on someone to do something… about it. We found mold and water damage as we were moving out. They are going to patch up the wall and clean the carpet instead of actually doing anything about the mold. It was so bad that the molding was bowing out. This is so gross to me. How are they not going to replace the carpet? Plus they charge us for paint/drywall and carpet cleaning even though we literally couldn’t do anything about the mess they left behind tearing out the wall. The carpet should be replaced especially with the mold in it. We called in work order but they never got back to is until I called again and finally someone came out.
The pool and hot tub almost never work. I don’t think the hot has worked since I moved in. When they said it was working it was so dirty and nasty who would want to get in plus it only lasts a day or two at most . I don’t think the pump on the pool works because every time Ive seen it looks disgusting. The fitness center is a joke. Its like 3 pieces of equipment.
They charge you for every little thing here. You pay 10 dollars a month to rent their crappy washer and dryer. Ive never even heard of places doing that before. They recently repainted the place but it looks terrible and the guys who did it were sloppy about it so they missed places and painted over everything. There is overspray on everything. They gave it the landlord special.
The office is so disorganized and none of them have a clue whats going on. If you put in a work order in a month they might get back to you. The garages are a joke. If you can fit your car in there (tiny) they are 125 a month. Most places charge 50-75 tops if they do at all. So many places you can get a apartment and garage for cheaper than this place. Maintenance has at least 4-5 with their stuff in there plus they have all these storage containers all over the property like they are actually plan on doing something around the property. I have lived at Echo Ridge for a year and I have to commend the staff on their efforts. They are always so kind and prompt to resolve any issues that may arise. A specific example: Just recently I had put in a 60 day notice to vacate due to other opportunities. We had changed our mind and wanted to stay but our current apartment was leased out when we inquired. We considered different units and Found one that wasn’t available until august. Aware of the fact our lease was up in May, John in… management went out of his way to call us up when the people who leased our current apartment fell through and spent all day arranging a way for us to stay at our current location then transfer to the other unit. There were a lot of questions on our end and every step of the way he was light hearted and enthusiastic. He maintains a mentality of joy that is obvious. This is only one of the several examples of the kindness not only John but all of the staff and maintenance maintain. I really do need to give a shout out to maintenance as well. I have encountered several different members of maintenance and it seems that kindness and a gentle spirit is a requirement for employment. If it wasn’t weird I would feel totally comfortable hugging them. I trust every person that enters my home and I’m happy to see them when we pass each other on the street. RUN. Do not walk. Run from this complex. We had no problems while living there except for minor issues (dog poop everywhere, rules not being enforced, etc) and paid our rent on time every month. However, when it came to move out, we were charged for an entire month at our last bill instead of the 4 days we had left. We had our payments on autopay and it withdrew from our account. We immediately called and were told that it was our fault for not turning off autopay and that there was nothing they… could do. We had to do a stop payment order which we were told would give us a late fee on their end as well, even though we immediately called and were told to place the stop payment. We consistently kept in contact via email and phone to see what the next steps were and were told to wait for a letter with further instruction on the remaining balance and security deposit. Now, after contacting them to see how everything was going with no response, we have received a letter from collections. Despicable management. I have lived here for many years and had several apartments, some of which had the best views in Castle Rock! The management staff are amazing and always helpful and professional. They are always willing to help with any questions and offer advise. There is always sufficient parking and found that during the winter, the snow is cleared right away. If I have a maintenance issue, the call-back is immediate and resolved within a day, if not the same day. You will not find an apartment in Castle… Rock that comes close to all the great amenities!
