Union Heights looks appealing on the surface, but living here has been disappointing in many ways. Maintenance is one of the biggest issues — requests are often closed without being fixed, emergencies go unanswered, and simple repairs can take weeks or months. For example, my A/C went out repeatedly during the summer, leaving my unit at 90 degrees, and I’ve had work orders marked “complete” or “canceled” when nothing was actually done.
Security is present, but unfortunately not professional.... I’ve personally seen guards smoking on the job, lounging instead of patrolling, and even using resident amenities while people were trying to use them. This doesn’t inspire confidence in the safety of the community.
Cleanliness is mixed. The lobby and amenity areas are kept in good condition, but hallways and trash chute areas are often messy, and I’ve personally seen rodents near the trash chutes on the west side of the building.
Management has been especially poor. In just 3.5 years of living here, management has changed at least three times. Since Greystar took over as current management/owner, I feel the building and overall environment have only gotten worse. Problems are often brushed off, communication is poor, and there is little accountability when residents raise concerns.
Lastly, the sense of community that once existed here is gone. Before Greystar took over, residents enjoyed food trucks, wine nights, and other events that made the complex feel like home. Those have disappeared, and amenities are sometimes closed even though residents are paying for them.
Overall, Union Heights is not the best option if you are looking for a well-managed, resident-focused community. There are far better places in the area where you’ll feel valued and get what you pay for.

This community just seems like a lost cause at times. Everything is broken, run down, or unsanitary.

Union Heights is not a building I would recommend to anyone until serious improvements are made. The complex is dirty, stinks, and regularly experiences amenity issues that impact the overall living experience.
