Avoid at all costs
I would strongly advise avoiding this property at all costs.
I lived here for an extended period of time and have never experienced theft as frequently as I did at the Mylo Apts in Santa Clara. I reported these incidents to management repeatedly, but nothing was ever addressed or resolved. Package theft is a constant and ongoing problem — despite years of complaints, management has taken no meaningful action. Packages often show as “delivered” but are nowhere to be found.
I personally... witnessed someone stealing packages from the top of the mailboxes, reported it to management, and once again — no action was taken. The problems extend beyond packages: cars are regularly broken into, and storage rooms are not secure.
The final straw for me was when my locked bicycle was stolen from the designated bike storage area. The lock had been cut, and despite this area being marketed as “secure” and accessible only by fob, management failed to follow up, review camera footage, or offer any support. Their complete lack of response is unacceptable, especially since this wasn’t the first bike theft at the Mylo.
What’s even more concerning is that there are two cameras — one outside the bike room and one inside — yet no one seems capable of retrieving the footage. Since access to the bike room requires a fob, it’s alarming to think that someone with authorized access could commit theft without any accountability.
Security is a major concern. It seems anyone can easily access the building without restriction. On top of that, many tenants show little respect for shared spaces. The trash rooms are consistently filthy, hallways smell unpleasant, and carpets appear not to have been cleaned or vacuumed in months.
The dog policy is another major issue. Tenants frequently let their dogs roam off-leash, and it’s not uncommon to find messes in hallways, elevators, and outdoor common areas. I’ve raised these concerns with building management repeatedly, but they are consistently ignored.
Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere unless you want to chase packages, worry about your car or bike being stolen, and deal with poor maintenance and management. This place deserves 0 stars.
