1217 Whitney Ave

I lived here for 1 year. While it wasn’t awful, I don’t know if I would recommend it. There are pros: the location, great natural sunlight, hot water and heat are included, and generally felt safe.
The cons: it’s small, it’s doable for one person but definitely small, people tend to leave the front door open, and they are stingy with the heat. The heat is free but many times it wasn’t on when it was cold outside. Lastly, it is very noisy. It’s to be expected living on such a busy street but I... was shocked to hear just how many sirens would go up and down Whitney Avenue.

Overall, it’s not a terrible apartment and the price is decent. I found the landlord to be responsive as well and it’s very easy to pay the rent online. Lee mas

From the outside looking in this is a beautiful apartment. The location is convenient and rent is not bad for Hamden however it stops there. Management is never available and will ignore you. Shaina at the Church St. office is very rude and unresponsive. Maintenance comes whenever they feel like I've had a leak in my living room since April 2020 and they claimed they fixed it and they never did. The bathroom ceiling started falling apart after a storm, the dishwasher spills all over the floor... and the fridge doesn't stay cold. Everyone slams and leaves the locked door open leaving packages available to be stolen. People stomp up the stairs and slam their doors and none of the dog owners pick up their dog's poop. All of the sirens and cars on Whitney Avenue become very annoying and across the water people are shooting almost every night. There is also a man here who gets drunk every week and he screams, blasts his car music and beeps his horn for hours. I thought I would be living here for at least 5 years and now I can't wait to get out of here. Lee mas
