Looks luxury online, feels hostile once you live here
I moved into The Curb after being homeless for 2.5 years and thought I finally found a quiet, safe place. Instead, I was hit almost immediately with “smoking” violations based only on alleged odor, with no photos, no video, and a “100-foot rule” that does not appear in my signed lease. Management refused to inspect my unit even after I invited them multiple times to see there was no smoking inside.
I’ve also experienced staff behavior that made me feel watched and harassed (including hanging... around my door and then speed-walking away), a conveniently timed “random” inspection, and, most recently, tampering with my brand-new 2023 Nissan Ariya while it was parked in the garage. A police report and a body shop estimate now state the side molding appears to have been pulled or kicked off the vehicle, not normal parking damage.
I’m documenting everything with emails, recordings, police case numbers, and repair reports because I no longer feel safe or respected here. If you’re considering moving in, read the lease carefully, ask very specific questions about enforcement and security, and document every interaction from day one.
