Depot Miami Apartments

My husband, my dog and I were living in this apartment for a while, and had concerns regarding mold in our unit. We brought it up to them in July of 2025, saying there was mold in the closet. Their maintenance guy came by, and assured me it was not mold. He told me it was a water stain and he would come fix it. No testing was done, nothing was checked. He then asked me if I had any bleach to help clean the area! And he proceeded to wipe the MOLD all over my closet! He painted over it with dry... wall, and they called it good. A week after this, I was experiencing extreme itching all over my body to the point my legs were severely bruised because of how bad I was itching. All my clothes went back in that closet where he wiped TOXIC mold everywhere. After a few months, the blackness of the mold was obviously back and visible again from where he painted over it. We mentioned the mold to them again, and they said “oh we know where this is coming from, we will handle it” then we heard nothing. We e mailed them again asking about the mold, and they told us they were gonna fix the AC. The AC was not our issue at this point. We then hired our own private professionally licensed mold inspector to run tests. THE AIR TEST AND SWAB TEST CAME BACK POSITIVE FOR STACHYBOTRYS, AKA TOXIC BLACK MOLD. We e mailed Depot management with all the information we received from the inspection and gave them a 7 day notice to fix the issue. They did not respond for days. Then they sent people to fix the AC. Then, they tried to send the maintenance guy to cut out the “water stain” with just a saw! This would have caused the mold spores to spread all over the closet and in our small studio apartment where all of my belongings have to go! I also have asthma, and was already dealing with skin irritation! This is not the proper way to remove black mold, there are requirements! We asked them to please bring anyone to help take the black mold out properly and they never answered us in regards to mold. They never mentioned the word mold! After they did nothing, we stood by our 7 day notice and left our uninhabitable apartment. Now, they’re trying to charge us $4,000! Because of their mistake! What they did and are doing is ILLEGAL!! DO NOT RENT HERE! Other issues we dealt with are the microwave not working and them NEVER fixing it. Our windows covered in algae and ROACHES! I had to get my own extermination kit and try to fix the issue myself! These people do not care about their residents! Lee mas

I moved to Florida in September 2023 and finding The Depot at Michigan truly felt like striking gold. Being new to the state, I wanted somewhere that offered comfort, safety, and convenience—and this place checked every box. The location is unbeatable! I'm close to everything I need: shopping, the airport, great food spots, and the beach is just a quick drive away. The lifestyle here fits me like a glove—I honestly can't imagine living anywhere else.

I just renewed my lease for the third time,... so that should tell you something! It's rare to find a place that makes you feel at home in a whole new state, but The Depot did exactly that. I absolutely love it here. Lee mas

I strongly urge anyone considering renting from Depot 16 to think twice before signing a lease. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare due to the property’s toxic mold issues and the gross negligence of the management team.

Shortly after moving in, I noticed visible mold spores on the ceilings, extensive water damage, and dangerously high humidity levels. Despite bringing these serious health concerns to management’s attention, their only response was to paint over the mold,... ignoring the root causes of the problem. This allowed the mold to continue spreading, severely impacting my health.

After hiring a professional to test the unit, results showed highly elevated mold levels in the air, A/C unit, and inner walls. I later found out that the apartment had suffered severe flooding and a collapsed ceiling just four months before I moved in—information that was never disclosed to me. The repairs were clearly superficial, as the ceiling is still splitting, the floors are warped from water damage, and there’s mold growing inside the walls.

To make matters worse, Depot 16’s management has shown a complete lack of professionalism and integrity. They entered my unit without proper notice, tampered with maintenance records, and deleted rent payment history from my tenant portal. They even tried to pressure me into signing documents that would waive my legal rights, which is completely unacceptable.

They are well aware of the severe mold problem in their buildings. These people are crooks and money-hungry, prioritizing profits over tenants’ health and safety.

This ordeal has taken a devastating toll on my physical and mental health, destroyed my personal belongings, and forced me to relocate unexpectedly.

If you value your health, safety, and peace of mind—DO NOT RENT FROM DEPOT 16. Their negligence is dangerous, and no one deserves to go through what I experienced. Lee mas

I couldn’t recommend depot Miami more! Out of all the places I looked at in the area, truly no place compares. The apartments are updated and CLEAN. Ashley, the leasing manager, is so attentive to anything you bring to her. Their maintenance and pest removal is also the best! The location is incredible and considering the location and all the amenities the apartments have, Depot is far superior to all the other apartments in the area. I highly recommend!

Thank you DEPOT MIAMI! I have been living in Depot Michigan for more than a year with my husband and we love that place. Everyone is very friendly! I love my neighbors.
