Carelessness From The Leasing Team Cost Me My App Fee
I'm a bit frustrated with my experience with both Jasmine and Deshawn.
I applied for a unit on 11/5 and had to manually email my offer letter to DCR-Leasing@gscapts.com as there is no where to upload it on the application. The kind woman I spoke to on the phone assured me that this was standard and that they would ensure it got forwarded to the screening company. As an added layer of security, I called the office and Deshawn confirmed that he saw my letter in the email.
After 2 days of... silence I called this morning (11/7 at 9:30am) and asked Jasmine if my letter was received as my new job told me they hadn't been contacted. Jasmine rushed me off the phone and said she would call me back later in the day with an update.
I check back in at 1pm because I haven't heard anything - I was told that they would get back to me today.
At 3:55pm I get a denial letter based on income which is strange because they never even called my new job to verify income.
So I call again and speak with Deshawn. I appreciated that he did take the time to look into the issue and came to find out my offer letter never even made it to the corporate office. It never left their inbox.
I reach out to the screening company 'Rental History Reports' and they confirm they never received my offer letter either.
What's more frustrating is Deshawn says that I may have to re-apply for them to to be able to forward the letter even though I am not the one that dropped the ball. I would have to pay another application fee!
'Rental History Reports' did inform me the file could easily be reopened but that the leasing office would have to be the ones to initiate it.
I've never had a leasing office drop the ball this severely at this point in the process and lack the accountability to at least apologize and try to rectify the situation promptly.
Originally I did want them to re-open my file but I am sensing a great amount of carelessness from this leasing office and honestly do not feel comfortable giving them any more of my money.
I will be applying elsewhere and highly recommend others do the same. It seems the screening company is standard and competent but the leasing office lacks the ability to take initiative and do their due diligence.
