Terrible Apartments and Company Owners
UPDATE: Ilene applied unjustified charges to my account ledger back in December 2024. It's my fault for trusting that my property management would act in good faith toward me.
INITIAL REVIEW: I have been living here since they first opened up (April 2023). Seasons at Plainfield Property Manager Ilene and Assistant Property Manager Stacy treated me unfairly compared to others in a way that made me feel targeted as a black woman. I came into the office on August 8th, 2024 to make a second noise... complaint and it was turned around on me. No action to remedy the situation was ever taken for my complaint. Although, action was immediately taken for my other neighbor (they're white) when a complaint was made about me. In the meeting, I was treated as the problem. I was berated several times for "going to my neighbor's door" to respectfully address the issue.
I questioned them about the racial discrimination that I had documented. They stonewalled the question. I was threatened by Ilene as she said, "We can show you the other side to us, is that what you want?!" She yelled saying that the conversation was over and that I needed to get out of their office. If I did not leave, she would call the police on me.
I left their office crying and in fear. I left my apartment after that "meeting" to stay with my parents for a while because I was that afraid. Later that day, I received a threatening and intimidating email from Ilene, not addressing my complaint from earlier that day, but reiterating to me to never knock on any neighbors doors to address an issue again, but to "come to them." She stated that if I did knock on a neighbor's door again that I would face consequences (this is not a guideline in the lease). Why would I continue to come to you when I have been treated unfairly not once, but twice? I've been dealing with anxiety, ptsd, panic attacks and depression because of all of this.
In regard to the apartments, they may look "nice," but there is a lot beneath the surface. The paiibt job & caulking is sloppy. The balconies are unsealed exposed wood. I have cut my feet on it several times. My bathtub is unstable and make cracking noises every time I get in. I feel like I will fall through it. The trash areas are always overflowing. NOISE is a big problem. You will hear everything. Please do yourself a huge favor and continue looking elsewhere because if you choose this place you will regret it. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!
