Why I left this apartment
Landlord sent me this "Please be advised that due to high demand and unexpected expenses with the property, the monthly rent will increase from $XXX to $XXXX." A $200 increase, so expect more of that. Also, road noise from 4am to about 8pm is unbearable. The building is also near train tracks. There was not a single level board in the entire apartment. Parking was next to a cliff that has no guardrail, one mistake and you're crashing into the Millers River. Fire escape was often roped off which... would be a hazard in an emergency. Two out of the six light switches in the unit did nothing. The back door opens into the apartment and when it's open you cannot access the refrigerator. Small and cheap appliances (refrigerator & stove). I spent the entire 14 months (Mon-Fri) listening to construction noise in the building. The shower floor was level so water never drained, it had to be squeegeed into the drain after every shower. Small, cheap, and slow coin operated washer and dryer in basement. Only access to the basement is to exit the building and enter through a door at the back of the building. This made doing laundry in the winter, or in any bad weather, unbearable. I could go on and on...

I am very sorry for such a delay in responding to this issue. We have had the same residents since day 1, except for Andrew of course. This is very upsetting to read, for the simple reason, this is our first endeavor into the apartment business, and... we do everything we possibly can to make sure the residents are happy. What Andrew has stated in his complaint is partially true. Unfortunately Andrew was one of the first residents in the building, and yes the construction was not complete yet and probably definitely a nuisance, especially considering Andrew worked second shift, so sleeping during the day was probably unbearable. This was stated to Andrew when he signed his lease, that the building was not complete, and there would be active construction until the project was complete. I am very sorry that Andrew experienced this displeasure. As far as the rest of the issues in his complaint, I don't believe those are an issue any longer. We have completed the project and made sure this building is completely flawless. We have full occupancy with all professional residents who are enjoying there stay with us. I do apologize again to Andrew and for the rough time he had with Cambridge Reality Group. I wish him nothing but the best.
