There has been a high turnover rate for the Maintenance team. It seems like they work and are reliable, but suddenly they are gone, and we are down 1 or 2 out of 3, then the third disappears. One of those 3 is the maintenance supervisor. I don't have any idea what makes them not last. Perhaps personality issues, lack of experience, lack of confirmation of previous employment, or the lack of manpower. Not enough staff. This complex should have at least 3, with a 4th being a supervisor. This is a... large complex with a high turnover rate for maintenance individuals. There are a few of us who have surpassed 4 years of residence. We are going on 6 years. Many more longer. Long enough to know what works and what doesn't. The last 2 "amenities" are billed extra, and have really brought a lot of ire, as most of the residents don't see the need for them. Regardless, the extra charges are billed even if you don't want, don't need, or won't use them. See it as another way to raise the rent under the guise of an "amenity". Like we had any choice, NOT.

recognize that consistency is important. Staffing challenges in maintenance have affected many large communities, and while that does not lessen the impact on residents, we want to assure you that we are actively working to improve retention, staffing levels, and overall service reliability. Our goal is to have a fully supported maintenance team that can meet the needs of a community of this size.
Regarding amenities and associated fees, these services were introduced with the intent of enhancing the community and supporting rising operational costs. We understand that not every amenity will be valuable to every resident, and we recognize that this has caused frustration. Your feedback has been noted and will be shared with ownership for review as we continue evaluating community needs and costs.
We value residents who have made this community their home for many years, and your feedback helps guide future decisions. If you would like to discuss these concerns further, we welcome the opportunity to do so.

Strides West apartments are great, with a few exceptions. The apartments are very large my 2 bed room is 1,200sq ft with wash and dryer, stainless steel appliances, capet only in the bedrooms, and snap in floor throughout the rest of the apartment. My only issue is that they take along time to fix or address issues here.

Aggressive dogs are allowed in the community. Cooling systems don't operate in the summer we have to purchase others means of AC to keep cool. A lot of outdated things within the apartments. Bad roaches problems. Office staff can only do so much. This is a corporate issue!

Regarding emotional support animals (ESAs), you are correct that under New Mexico and federal law, breed restrictions cannot be applied to ESAs with proper documentation....
We understand that this can raise concerns for some residents, and we do our best to ensure the safety and comfort of all community members while remaining in compliance with the law.
I also want to acknowledge your concerns about the cooling systems. We understand that swamp coolers have limitations, especially during extreme summer heat or periods of high humidity. While they are the standard cooling system for our community, we recognize that they may not always provide sufficient comfort for every resident. As such, residents are welcome to use alternative cooling methods as needed. Your feedback is valuable.
We also take pest control and general maintenance very seriously. If you are still experiencing issues such as roaches or outdated apartment conditions, we encourage you to submit a maintenance request so we can address it promptly.
We appreciate you taking the time to voice these concerns. Your experience matters to us, and while not everything may be resolved overnight, your input helps drive the improvements we aim to make across the community.

First two years of living there never had one issue. Never have I been late on my rent never have I not paid my rent. In June my swamp clear broke it took your maintenance department 29 days to fix my Swamp Cooler. I have an elderly woman that suffers from dementia that was living with me. My apartment would get into the high 90s and never cool down below the 80s while Swamp Cooler was broken in the middle of summer. I expressed your office on multiple occasions that I had an elderly woman... living in my apartment and I need my phone clear fixed. They still drugged their feet and it took them 29 days to fix my Swamp Cooler. It was a very minor Fix as your maintenance department explained it to me in July when they finally fixed it. I’m a service plumber. I work on Swamp coolers for a living. That problem should’ve been fixed within 2 to 3 days of my request. It’s only a one hour repair. I had zero communication from your maintenance department are from your front office or from the management team at stride West. My Swamp Cooler. once again my swamp clear broke down in September. I notified your office multiple times made multiple request through the website portal. Had zero communication back from your management or anybody that worked for stride West. It took them 22 days to fix my Swamp Cooler this time. both of those things are highly against New Mexico laws. Stride west broke their own lease agreement that I had with them. I have since moved out and no longer live at stride west and I will never live at a stride west apartment complex again. It was one of the worst living experiences I’ve ever had and I’ve lived from one end of this country to the other in multiple different apartments, hands-down stride rest was the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in.
