This is one of the worst moves of my life. Firstly, we were shown an apartment that was in much better condition that then one that was rented to us. Additionally, the apartment that was rented to us was different from their marketing pictures (especially the design of the fireplace). We moved in and there was an almost hand-sized tear in the plaster in the wall and the toilet handle was broken. I reported this to management, it took over a month and an additional work order to get addressed.... Even now the toilet handle is still broken and they only painted the wall, did not patch the plaster. In our 4 months at The Mica it has come to our attention that the lanai's are not properly secured to the building, and emergency repairs had to be made to some for safety, leaving the rest of us to worry about the soundness of ours. The laundry room has been closed without notice, barring us from accessing our stored belongings. Additionally the washer leaks and floods the floor, and the water heater is wired in what appears to be a very unsafe manner. The property is very dirty and unkept, and the pool and/or hot tub are constantly out of service. This doesn't even address my 2 month long issue with getting our a/c repaired, that still isn't resolved. When trying to get necessary repairs that have been requested by their outside service company, I have been treated with anger and hostility to the point that I no longer feel comfortable being home alone when repairs are needed. At this point serving a 7 day notice might be my only recourse.
