Worst Rental Experience - Terrible Management and Apartment
Office management (specifically the property assistant managers Melanie and Taissia, and manager Fernanda) were so unprofessional, incompetent and incapable of resolving challenges and literally do not care about any problems brought to their attention, as long as they adhere to the minimum legal requirements of lease terms. They would criticize and blame other office staff or myself for issues instead of trying come to a resolution. Many of my challenges could have easily been resolved with... some level of customer service, but their ineptitude and dismissiveness only escalated problems.
See below for some
of the issues experienced:
-They baited and switched me by changing the unit I signed a lease for 2 months prior, only 3 days before I moved in, stating I could only keep it if I paid more. I had to change my address again and cancel/restart service on all utilities.
-The unit given to me was in very poor condition, it was filthy and had a number of maintenance problems, much of which I had to resolve myself after asking for them to fix repeatedly. Cleaners and maintenance came in multiple times, often not even rectifying the specific issues brought to their attention and even leaving my unit unlocked when they left.
-Bugs/pests inside due to a hole in a window frame to the outside.
-The dishwasher was completely rusted and unsafe to use. They told me they would be replacing it and when I followed up after a few weeks of waiting, they then changed their response and said they had already “cleaned” it and were no longer replacing it.
-There was excessive flooding over the only path to my door due to near constant overwatering.
-They had my power shut off when they erroneously reported my unit as vacant without any notice (they said they put a note on my door, which I never received, but no email or phone call). This was their error after they changed my unit at move in, they never corrected which one was vacant to the power company, and continued to charge me for not starting service under my name when they were given my account number at move in.
-I had multiple maintenance issues throughout the months I lived there, with the plumbing and heating/ac, if the heat was running, the hot water would stop.
-The pool was kept closed for months by the health district.
-I made a complaint when a negligent neighbor left their barking dog on their patio at all hours of the day and they did nothing even after they were advised it got worse.
