Heron Springs Apartments

It is always a great idea to give credit to a management team that goes above and beyond, especially since rental reviews are often dominated by complaints.

I cannot say enough good things about the management team at Heron Springs. The staff is exceptionally kind, professional, and they handle every service request with genuine consideration. The rent is very competitive for the Stow area, and a huge plus is that there are NO HOA fees. The location is incredibly convenient and accessible.

I... also appreciate the effort the staff puts into community events; it’s a great way to break the ice and build a friendlier atmosphere among the busy professionals living here. Highly recommend!

I wish I could give them zero star!! I was dealing with a problem of having a mouse in my unit and the irresponsible management did nothing!!! Other than putting a stupid little trap that did absolutely nothing!! And when I complained they just said it happens!!! Horrible management!!!

Office staff was repeatedly distant and wouldn't respond to communication when they overcharged me money.

I have been living here for almost two years. Most of the apartments have not been updated and therefore many things break frequently. Maintenance is slow to respond and then doesn't fix the item the first time. Washer broke.... they "fixed" it. It broke again 2 days later. Ice maker broke.. they "fixed" that too. We went without central air for almost two months during some of the hottest days of the summer. They offered no rent deduction for the problem. I have emailed the management office on... multiple occasions and have gotten no response. I would not recommend this apartment. Lee mas

Heron Springs has a lot of things that I enjoy. The apartments are updated, the prices are manageable, it's pet friendly, and the maintenance crew has always been prompt.

My primary issue with Heron Springs is that parking is atrocious and it is not monitored at all. They have far more housing units than they do available parking spaces. Their parking lots are extremely small and on many occasions, I have had to park several buildings away from my unit, on the other side of the apartment... complex, because there were no available spaces. The disappointing thing about this is that Heron Springs even has garages available to renters, and with surface lots and garages, there's still such a stunning lack of available parking. It's so bad that people routinely park illegally in the handicap spots. As I said, there isn't enough parking and it isn't monitored, so people just do whatever they want and it's frustrating. I don't think this should be a dealbreaker for any prospective renters, but if you're more than 1 car household I would suggest to get a garage in order to have readily-available parking near your unit.

While minor, the other things that have me dissatisfied is that they do not offer recycling and that the property managers could have better communication with renters. For example for a couple weeks there was construction on the road at the main entrance of Heron Springs. It caused a headache, but I never received a word from Heron Springs notifying about this or a timeline for when it should be fixed. Recently, the trash area was also closed off because it was under construction. I walked bags of my trash to the dumpster and had to walk back to my apt with them, because it was all roped off. I'd appreciate simple e-mail communication keeping us in the loop with issues/construction/FYI's.

To elaborate more on what I enjoy, the apartments are updated. It's all central air/heat instead of window units. The kitchens have dishwashers and garbage disposals. Washer/dryer in unit. There's a lot of different unit layouts to choose from. I found the Heron Springs website to be incredibly helpful when I was apartment hunting as other apartments don't always have that information readily available. There's a good amount of storage in the apartments as well - coat closet/pantry when you walk in, linen closet in the bathroom, and the utility room.

Overall good experience. Wish parking was better. Lee mas
