Wakefield Manor Apartamentos

Wakefield Manor is a series of small buildings that are three stories with a basement. Each floor has two, yes two, apartments to them! Very quaint, quiet, small and personable. Utilities are included, cast iron heaters, built-in window air conditioner, real hardwood floors. They have studios, one bedroom and a few two bedroom apartments. You are one block away from two different hotels and everything is walking distance - restaurants, bars, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Apple, shopping plaza,... CVS, AMC theatre and Courthouse Metro! If you seriously need to drive, a ZipCar lot is also a couple blocks away. Where does the almost perfect view come from? The laundry room. There is one laundry room. In one building. With 5 washers and 5 dryers. Two flights down from the main entrance to said building. And with the security of the main entrance of all buildings being locked at all times, you will need to have on your person at all times 4 keys - one for your building entrance, one for your apartment, one for the laundry building entrance (if you are not lucky enough to be renting in the building that has the laundry room) and a key to the laundry room itself. In the end, if you live on the top floor of one of the buildings, that's 5 flights of stairs, 4 keys and not to mention your laundry, detergent and three dollars for each load. Lee mas

If you love historical buildings with their quaint features such as real hardwood floors, cast iron heating radiators, red brick structures, old world titles such as Wakefield Manor, then this is the place for you! Utilities are included with the rent and there is free parking in one of two lots and of course on the street. A/C is via a window set up. The only down side is depending on which building you live in, you may have to exit your building and go down two flights of stairs in another... building to access the 5 washers/5 dryers to do laundry. A minor inconvenience if you are high maintenance person. But on the plus side, in the building you are in is secured and houses two apartments per floor. Each building has 3 stories and no elevator. So in your building it's only 6 apartments which gives you plenty of quiet days and nights and a feeling of personal security. Two blocks from a metro station also offers extra convenience to save you money on gas! Easily within walking distance to Whole Foods, Trader Joes, numerous restaurants, bars and clubs. These units go quickly when vacated, so be sure to have your application and deposit ready! Lee mas
