Legacy at Mayland

As of 1/8/24, they are charging resident’s guests $10/night to park. I’ve never lived in an apartment complex, nor been a guest to one, where they charged guests to park. If they want to have resident only spots and tow cars that don’t have a resident parking sticker, that’s fine. They didn’t try giving the residents guest passes to use or have us register guests with the office. They went right to charging residents. This is especially troubling as someone who lives alone. If I was ill or... injured and had to have someone stay with me to help me for a couple weeks, I’m looking at $150 in parking fees when I can least afford it.
This is on top of the multitude of fees you must pay on top of your rent.
- $50 to park. This is not an optional fee you can pay if you want to have reserved parking. This is a mandatory fee.
- $31 for trash.
- Monthly Sewer charge - I live alone and pay roughly $45/month
- Monthly Water charge - Roughly $40-45/month
- Pest Control - $3/month
- Admin Charge for being billed the above - $5/month
Be aware of all these fees so you can compare when looking at other complexes. Your rent is not what you pay monthly here.
The only reason I’m not giving them one star is because the grounds are kept clean and the maintenance staff is responsive when there are issues. Lee mas

The absolute worst place that I have ever lived. Parking is terrible, staff is rude. We have only been here a few months and the place has been falling apart since. If I could give zero starts I would.

I lived here for a year and the management is awful. I've had to live with a cable box beeping in the locked utility closet in my kitchen the ENTIRE time I lived here. I was in contact with them about this issue for 2 months and they were unable and unwilling to fix it. They have a ridiculous amount of fees on top of rent. And upon moving out they sent us a random "final utility bill" 5 days before move out, when we had already paid everything for the month. After reading other reviews about... cleaning charges I can only imagine what nonsense they are going to make up about how we leave the apartment. Save your money and sanity and try to find somewhere else to live. Lee mas

The management here is very poor. Although I've paid $16,000 in rent, they would not replace a few square feet of carpet after, through no fault of my own, raw sewage seeped into my bedroom. They cleaned the carpet but my contention is they should have replaced it. Just a few square feet.

You pay a monthly parking fee, trash, fee, pest fee, and water bill. The trash compactor routinely overflows and they fine you if you don't take your trash to an alternate location. For trash fee I... think they could empty the compactor more frequently.

Because I am staying one month extra beyond my lease, they are charging me an outrageous month to month fee. I realize per the lease I signed they can do this but that doesn't mean they should.

PLEASE READ!!!! Legacy at Mayland is the worst place to live. They are super money hungry liars !!! As the other post state the move out process is the worst. We're talking 1,000 dollars after move out. They charged 60 dollars for light bulbs that we had already replaced( by the way when you live there if your light goes out YOU have to buy new ones). They charged 50 dollars for a cleaning fee after I spent hours cleaning because I read these reviews you are reading but nope I forgot to clean... INSIDE of the washing machine. The buildings are super old....you can hear EVERYTHING. They put caulk (like for the bathroom) to cover every crack in the walls. The flooring is in bad shape and you can hear every movement YOU and your NEIGHBORS. They charge you for pest control every month that you will NEVER SEE!!!! ( well until your ready to move out so they can try to charge you AGAIN) The one garage compacter NEVER works but you will be paying for that also. They NEVER have events as promised. They NEVER can keep a maintenance worker ( their begging for one every other week on the portal for residents). I could go on and on about this place but the #1 thing is DONT STAY HERE!!!! - Lee mas
