The Estates at Cougar Mountain

I have lived at ECM for about one month, and I truly love my new apartment! The community is beautifully maintained and after living in downtown Seattle, I've really enjoyed the peacefulness and safety that I feel here. My apartment is spacious and surprisingly bright (even with the limited sunlight we get in the PNW this time of year). All of the staff have been great, and when I had a maintenance request shortly after moving in, it was resolved quickly and efficiently. Onsite staff noticed an issue during move in that I didn’t. Maintenance had it fixed before I even brought the last box inside. I was impressed with the efficiency and receiving a follow up call a few days after move in just to ask how things were going. Clearly the office staff had some notes because the call was very personalized. Both Aren and Madison were exceptional!

The Estates at Cougar Mountain provides beautiful homes with thoughtful layouts and lovely finishes. The staff is outstanding, attentive and supportive. The amenities are lovely.

I lived here for three years and experienced multiple serious issues that management never resolved. Cannot recommend this place to anyone.

Maintenance Problems:
Heating never worked properly - no heat during winter months
Refrigerator broke and flooded our room. Bathroom electrical outlets never functioned from day one. Maintenance themselves were great, but these issues still persisted.

Construction Quality:
Walls are paper thin with zero sound insulation
Upstairs neighbors extremely loud at... all hours with no resolution from management
Our child couldn't sleep due to constant noise disturbances

MAJOR SECURITY ISSUES:
Car broken into on property
Packages stolen 5+ times from our door
Management did NOTHING about security concerns

Upon moveout, they sent us a bill for repairs and gave us only two weeks to pay it before sending to collections.

Bottom Line:
Look elsewhere! Between the broken appliances, flooding, no heat, paper-thin walls, and terrible security, this place is not worth your time or money. There are better options out there. Lee mas

Do not sign a lease with The Estates at Cougar Mountain. They initially messed up my application and tried to make it 12 months when my application was for more than that. When I pointed that out to them they tried to blame me but quickly changed their tune when I showed them evidence of my application. They botched the payment plan switch to bilt rewards and there was a month where my automatic payment using the old system stopped working before the bilt system was implemented. They botched... the mail room upgrade and lied to tenants that the problem was solved when it wasn’t. It took months to resolve the issue. They tried to force tenants to pay additional fees for the package room which was not in our leases and they most recently doxxed two other units to me by sending their lease renewals to my home.
