I moved to Florida in October from Tennessee. This apartment is in a nice area near many things. We are walking distance to the Tom Thumb gas station as well as a deli. Blocks from the Main Street and Walmart and only about 10 minutes from the beach. The apartment itself is quiet, our neighbors are friendly and don’t cause issue. There is a pool and a nice communal patio area with fire pit and games outside. Staff is friendly and does monthly events like a movie durning Christmas time, candies... during Halloween ect. There isn’t a gym and as far as I know no units have in unit washers and dryers, though there is a laundry facility on site. The only issue with that is it only takes quarters, which gets annoying at times, but it’s not expensive so I’m happy about that. They allow you to have pets as well, which is nice and don’t have a dog weight limit. All in all it has been peaceful living here so far and I enjoy the apartment. Read More

I moved out for several ongoing issues that were never resolved.Persistent electrical problems in the unit, including a light switch that had to be taped in a fixed position because moving it would trip the breakers.When I first brought it up, maint came out several times to attempt to fix it.When it created a large spark, the maint man finally said it wasnt something he was capable of & called the electrician.When the electrician came, he asked me very seriously if I knew who had tried to fix... it because it was a miracle it hadnt caught fire YET.There was a hot water issue in the hall bathroom. Despite reporting it, the problem was never fixed.My kids were often unable to fill the tub a 1/4 of the way, & water continued to leak from the handles.I had the same issue in the master bath when I first moved in & it took several attempts to have the issue halfway fixed.The master shower was left with damaged tile that wasnt sealed properly.There are serious water leaks/issues fairly regularly that they have to shut water off for the entire complex for hours.The shared laundry room was also a significant concern, roaches crawling in & out of the washers, & the room was broken into & left unlocked, & trashed on multiple occasions, raising serious sanitation & safety concerns.Another major issue was the pool area.After previously notifying management of mold growing in the pool, problems continued. There is a light on the side of the pool that is free-floating, which I was told was too expensive to fix.Over the summer, the pool area was frequently taken over by people who were rude & aggressive.My girl’s toys were stolen by grown men, & when I intervened to retrieve them, I was met with hostility. On several occasions, I was yelled at and treated disrespectfully—always in front of my four daughters— when I refused to allow others access or declined to share my code. Due to these experiences, I no longer felt comfortable using the pool.Within 2 wks of moving in my kids bikes were stolen from the porch.Residents bring their dogs out off leash and just don't clean up after them.Access to the office has been extremely difficult.The office has not consistently been open during posted hours, especially recently.When residents are required to come in person to obtain new access codes, this creates a significant barrier. I leave for work between 730 & 745am, work until 630pm, & dont come home until about 730pm after getting my kids, making office access nearly impossible. Read More

The management team is welcoming and easy to communicate with; they answer our questions with genuine care and the concerns we have are addressed in a timely manner.
The property has a charming vibe without having to travel threw hectic traffic and the amenity’s are fresh and inviting.
All of their units are newly renovated and upgraded with new appliances cabinets sinks.
I recommend friends and family in transition to Elevate @ 604 West all the time they made our transition easier.

Look. I'm just happy that I was able to get approved for an apartment. This was the first apartment complex in Fort Walton to NOT give me grief for having a service animal that was over 65 lbs. I provided the property manager with the correct information she needed and nothing else was said. I appreciate that. I gave the property 4 stars because I haven't had any major issues worth giving them a low rating. When they send out that they're doing an inspection I email and ask when it's supposed to... happen so I have a general idea and so my dog is not in the apartment.

If I ever have any of the major issues that people are having like the hot water going out or air conditioning, honestly I'll probably ask if I can have the technician I know work on it and have them take it out of my rent. I'm used to doing things myself and then providing the apartment complex the information on what was done. It's faster.

Most of the complaints I have are with my neighbors honestly. Sometimes they just leave their trash outside the dumpster so there are flies everywhere near there. I kill a lot of flies who end up in my apartment. Some of them are really loud. Many of the other dog owners don't pick up their dog's poop. So, I end up doing it just because I personally hate stepping in dog poop.

The other complaints I have are so minor. There's no fan in my bedroom but there's a light switch that goes to a ceiling light. I asked the property manager if I can buy the fan and the maintenance guy put it up, but I haven't heard back yet. Also, there are no screens for the windows, but I'm just going to buy a screen and put that in. See easy fixes.

All in all, I just mind my own business. I pay my rent on time and if something needs fixing I try to do it myself. I don't have any of the issues that everyone else is having and I'm happy where I am. Read More

We have been here for 7 months and management has been a NIGHTMARE. We have been without hot water for 6 WEEKS. They tell us they will stop by so we've had to lock our pets up for 6 weeks because they never tell us when they'll actually be by. I've left close to 30 voice mails and NOT ONCE HAS THE OFFICE RETURNED MY CALL. Our carpet was soaking wet for around 2 and a half months because they installed the wrong A/C unit and the water drips into the maintenance closet floor and now the apartment... below us has water damage. They literally dried the hot water tank and said eh it should be good, so the hot water tank BLEW at 3am. We woke to a loud pop and a bright light, since the maintenance closet is in our bedroom. When they do come it is so early in the morning that they've walked in on me in my night things. They are more considered about having proper chairs on balcony and doing inspections than they are about our hot water tank. They expect us to call everyday to remind them to do their job.
